i figure that the first things i should get are diff. gaurds and a t-case skid plate. other than that is there anything that is essential? by the way i do not plan on any major rock crawling.

protect the oil pan, and steering stuff (the steering stuff is very important, and can be bent easaly or ripped off in bad cases) But i would say the oil pan is very important, once you get a hole in that...umm...your stuck..with a engine that is eather dead or needs major rebuilding..I personaly dont know this..but my brother has gone through 3 engines from oil pan holes alone, and guess what, when you hit the pan, you dont know untill its too late...

The oil pan would is a good idea but if your jeep is lifted the odds of something going through your axle and everthing to hit it are lower than yout TCase skid. NOT that it's not a good idea.

I've done some research on what people get for skid protection and in what order. and this is how it went.

IN order
1.Tcase skid
2.gas skid
3.rockrails.
4.control arm skids
5.motor.oil pan skid.
6. other mis. stuff.

the options 5.4.6 are in others is where the order changed the most for users but the firt 3 were the big ones everyone seems to get first.

mine came with a gas tank skid plate, a tcase, and a steering stuff one (hangs below, right from the front of the bumper and gets close to the axle to protect your steering components) if you have stock...I would say Oil pan is high on the list for me..probally because when I bought my jeep it already had amost everything else..except rockrails..im getin a set of "C" rocker bars...fat enough to use at running boards, small enough to not loose the ground clearance you would with factory running boards or tubes (my dad has fact running boards...they are smashed..they hang an Inch down..talk about a loss of clearance on a stock jeep!)
