It goes up...hence the name ramp ;)

ok...
basicaly it tests how far your suspension can flex before you have a tire leave the ground(just drive up it with one front tire). the score is usualy in inches representing how far you made it up the ramp before one of your tires lifted.

actually Kelly you were 3rd overall out of all the rigs that ramped i do believe, which is extremely good. From my knowledge only Steve with his YJ adn the Tube Buggy scored higher. It was awesome to finally meet yah and do a lil wheelin hopefully next time ill have my rig to play in.

"The Magical Midget"

Edit: But dont let that score get your hopes up, you were still the only one who needed the strap when we went wheelin!!! lets see those stuck pics, lol

I don't know about being 3rd overall. Maybe 4th. The guy with the black TJ parked behind mine scored a 970. I hope I didn't win a prize and left before I got it. Oh well. I had a better time 4-wheeling with you guys.

BTW-about your stuck comment. I may have gotten stuck in a mud hole...but my 4 cylinder TJ kicked ass up that one hill and on the RTI ramp. Yeah baby!!! :*

PS: stuck pics will also be on here tomorrow...if I have to

To get your RTI Score on a given ramp: The vehicle attempts to climb the ramp as high as possible without lifting a wheel off the ground. The distance the vehicle can travel up the ramp without losing contact with the ground is measured from the leading edge of the ramp to the center of the hub on the ramp. That number is then divided by the vehicles wheelbase (the distance between the vehicles centerline of the front axle and the centerline of the rear axle) and then multiplied by 1000 to calculate the average. For instance, if a vehicle with a wheelbase of 94 inches travels 62 inches up the 20 degree ramp then the RTI would be calculated as: 62" divided by 94" x 1000 resulting in a score of 659. This method of multipling by the vehicles wheelbase allows one vehicle to compete with another vehicle like a CJ-5 to an F-250 Crew Cab on the same ramp test.

If no ramp is available, just use the nearest lowered Ricer :t

Just a side note.

Those ATs ain't worth a squirt in that slop (but you already know that :D )

You definitely earned a few 'Cool Points' for giving it the Ol' Jeepers Try :rock

Correction: Those are the M/T's. Check out the meats on the ramp also. She also had different rims for her A/T's. Alittle right foot (cough cough my name) would have made for a great picture. :)

Let me get this straight...................... BFG MTs are just over-priced, wannabe, so-called mud tires that DON'T work in the mud

M4TJA1

NOOOO he thought she was running the AT's in the mud. The AT's and MT's are awesome tires and they work great in mud, sand onroad, etc.

I know some people are biased, but in the review that JP gave em like months and months ago they ranked top over all other tires tested. Excluding the Intero line, Interco tires just OWN ALL!!!

TJMagoo

No the MT's work great in the mud. But I wedged my jeep into that hole good enough and I couldn't get out. The tires had nothing to do with it. For once, and only once, I might blame this on driver error :* (ok so I just made fun of myself...or well. If you can't laugh at yourself, you're not living ;) :P )

Just for comparison, I did the 20 degree ramp at the PA Jeeps show in York, PA a couple years ago. I ramped a 926 with my '71 CJ5, 2.5" lift, stock axles and 33" MTs. I had to stop at 926 because I kept picking up the front tire that wasn't on the ramp. I could probably do a little better now since my new front axle is 3" wider.

Check out www.pajeeps.org for info on their 8th annual show coming up this summer, it's a great 2-day show!
