Had a 2000 Sahara and loved it, but HAD TO GET A RUBICON. My sahara was stock but I'm gonna put toys on this one!
I wanted to know if anyone can suggest to me ways to improve my engine performance? I'd like to increase power AND fuel economy if possible.
Also for the future, has anyone "waterproofed" their engine? HOW. Thanks!

As far as performance goes, K&N FIPK. They add a couple of horses. If it didn't come with headders, that is a good place to start too. Hook that up with a high flow cat back exhaust system and you will pick up some performance too. If it has A/C, dump it! That robs horses and fuel economy. I had an S10 once with A/C, when I took it off I got 4 miles per gallon more than before. That is just a suggestion though, I wouldn't reccomend doing it if it is under warranty. You can most likely bypass it by putting a belt on that is for the engine without A/C. Try that it may help.

hey neighbor,
are you thinking about a snorkle? the only draw back I've found owning a rubi is a lot of the stock parts have changed from the 02 wrangler and borla and other co. not sure if old stuff will work or not. I had a 99 TJ and had the k&n fipk2 as well as the borla header/cat back exhaust. it definently add over 15% hp. as well as a nice throaty/non stock sound. I miss that. keep me posted w/your updates. do you belong to a local club? TJ

hey man! Really great to meet a local jeeper.
Thanks for the info.
Yeah, everyone keeps telling me to hold off cuz they don't know what works yet on the Rubi's. Everyone on this board must know what its like to have to WAIT when you'd rather be out playin!! Hopefully they'll let me know soon.
I don't belong to a club yet but need to start looking for one. Any suggestions?
Just got back from seeing family in Pittsburgh, jeeep was great on the 8 hour trip, and lots of fun in the mountains north of the city. Saw 2 bear. Hope to hear back form you. Later!

Hey jeeprush,
I took RUBI to Williamsburg KY when she was 19 days old on a www.jeepjamboreeusa.com and she did great. I think it rides better than the TJ, on/off the trail. How do you compare her to your old Sahara?
As far as a club, you can click on my website icon below on my profile or click www.mudslingers.org their always looking for new members. Their next meeting is in Westmont, near 63rd/cass, 1/15/03, all are welcome. There is a local trail we go to called towpath, near I 294/I 55 near the canal, in Summit/McCook. TJ
