What items do you carry on the trail?
Safety Items; Jacks; Shovel; Extra Fuel; Tow Strap etc.
List your items so others may learn what might save them on a trial ride or when they 4wheeling.
We could always learn something new!
Have A Great Day!

well.. your both doin good... but your forgetting the most important stuff. Nobody's gonna give a ch!t about your jeep if your dead on the rock next to it. If its between me and the Jeep.. well thats a hard decision.. but for most people there gonna say screw the jeep and save their arse in a heartbeat.
Lets start like this:(I'll try to list them by importance)
WATER(the more the better. I cary 5gal)
First Aid Kit (keep some matches in here too it will save your arse)
Food
Tow points
Fire Extinguisher (get one if you EVER plan to carry a gas can)
Gas (a 5gal can is a nice thing to have)
Spare Tire
Tire Jack & Tools (one that goes high enough to change the tire!!)
Tow Strap
CB radio
Basic tools (few wrenches screwdrivers vicegrips duct tape, hose clamps, &WD-40)
Spare Fluids (brake fluid,Oil, Gear oil, ATF,Beer)
Extra parts (Spark Plugs & wires, Hoses, oil filter, oil drain plug,U-joints, lug nuts, & bailing wire)
Rope
Air (cheapazz $10 comressor or fix a flat... as long as it can air up a tire)
Tire patch kit (useless without air though)
Chage of Clothes & Shoes (never know when your gonna get soaked)
Bug Spray
Trashbags
all of this stuff (with the exception of the 5gal gas and water jugs, and the hi-lift jack) should be able to fit very easily behind your rear seat or in a rubbermaid container.
I think that about sums up my list... anything I missed???

OPPS I FORGOT THE TIRE REPAIR KIT
he only thing that I saw that I needed after this last weekend was a chain. You really can't pull yourself out using a hi-lift jack and a tow strap. It flexes too much. I would highly recommend a chain. Other things you might want to think about are spare valve stems. You never can tell when you might scrape one off or damage one and have to replace it. I had to make a run to the parts store on Saturday to get a couple more due to the fact a friend of mine damaged his on the trail and had to limp home on a flat tire.

OMG Mike that is so funny! However, I hope I never see that in person...ever! That person is definately high maintenance.
I usually carry with me: My CB, fire extingisher, cooler with my favorite beverages, extra clothes and shoes, towels, toliet paper (no duct tape here :D ) I usually don't have to worry much about tools cause the guys I go with are pretty packed down with a $hitload of tools. I know that is wrong but it seems so right ;)

TRUST ME the good ole bumper dumper is not a pleasent sight out on the trail... :x
My wife and I came across a family with it out in the desert last fall...surprised the dad pretty good when we came up over the top of an adjacent hill over looking their little portalet
Is not a memory I cherish...
On the other side of things, anyone use or carry a portable welder on their rig?
And thanks for all the good sugestions here, I've found a couple of items that I've over looked and will be adding to my inventory shortly.
I usually carry an assortment of nuts, bolts, washers and screws in a tackel box with me out on the trail, along with all the other items (am I the only paranoid one out there doing this?)

I was going to bring my welder, but one of the guys in the club was bringing his box truck out and he had a generator, sawzall, mig welder, and rollout toolbox. I generally throw all my spare nuts and bolts into the top tray of my tool box as spares. I actually got too many of them so I went to the sporting goods store and got one of those mizuno bait organizers. I put the different types of hardware into the slots, and have my wiring connectors in there also. Makes life alot easier with stuff organized where you can find it when you are broke down in the dark with a flashlight on the fritz.

I live in N.C. and this past winter we had a bad ice storm. You would not believe the amount of trees fallen across the trails. The ones on the ground are easy to cross but most are hanging 4 to 6 foot across the trail. A chain saw is a must here for a while.
