Ha I just wanted to tell you how I like the grands, I have this habit of pulling people out that stuck, or just broke down. I was coming from the Houston area to Dallas one Sunday and broke as a big dog. I was cruising about 85 down the interstate and I had this 94 or 95 Surburban following behind me. I just looked back in my rearview mirrow and saw smoke boiling out of the vehicle and I pulled over to see if I could help. It was this Man about 50 and his daughter 10 or 11 his transmission blew. I couldn't leave them on the side of the road so I told them I would tow them to the next exit. The guy looked at my jeep and said do you think it would hurt your vehicle to tow this Surburban it's so heavy. Well that kind of sounds like a challenge. I towed him about thirty miles to the next exit about 55 miles an hour.

I pulled over we were still about 120 miles from Dallas he said he would call a wrecker out of Dallas to bring him in.

I told him you pay for my gas and I will pull you up to your doorstep. He said your on.

I asked where he lived he said Plano probably about 45 minutes the other side of Dallas.

A little further than I wanted too go but I was broke and didn't have anything else to do. My wife was with me and she likes helping people to it was just before Christmas. So I started towing him and before I knew it I was crusing about 70 or sometimes 75 miles an hour all the way to Plano trowing this Surburban. It kind of looked funny this cherokee towing this big vehicle this fast. I pulled him up to his house he had a big fine home he brought me and my wife in got us something to drink and said he had a new found respect for jeeps oh he also gave us $ 160.00 for the tow job. He said he would have paid more than that for a wrecker and he was worried about his child on the side of the road.

So it worked I got to tow someone and got paid to.

Nice. I've pulled people out of ditches and snow banks but I've yet to ever pull anyone for more than a mile or so. I'm very confident in my jeep and what it can do.

What size motor is in your ZJ?

4.0 the only motor I've had in all the jeeps I have owned.

I really would like to try the V8 but have not had the opportunity. Plus I believe the maintenance would be easier in the inline 6, and the 4.0 seems to have all the power I need if there is such a thing.

The true bad boy I would like to have is the V8 (360) lot of torque, my buddy has one with 260 thousand miles and it is bulletproof. The engine is still strong.
