Found a deal on tire/rim combo. 4 black rockcrawlers and Pro-comp mud terrians
How are pro-comp tires? I had a set of 60's YEARS ago on my Mustang hot-rod, they were ok...
How are their off road/ AT tires? Don't get that many chances to get off-road, but I like the look of the mudders comapred to the AT's.
thanks in advance...

Disclaimer: Buddy-of-mine story following
OK I don't have them, but when i was wheeling up in Uwharrie, the Jeep that always followed right behind me was running Mud Terrains. The only issue that he had with traction was not due to the tires but due to the fact that he was running an open diff. They worked good in the gumbo and seemed to keep themselves pretty clean (esp. compared with my little A/T's i was running). I was actually looking at getting a pair because they werent' too aggressive looking and I was told they were pretty good for roading also.

That's my major concern, being I'm on-road more than off. I don't want to end up with banana's in the rain....especially with my critter in the jeep.
Here in the N.E., I'll mostly be doin' trail rides & snow rather than major muddin'. There is a place nearby with ALOT of rok-krawlin' potential! I neighbor 'round the corner goes out to PA. to rok alot. He's runnin' 35" Thornbirds on a CJ daily driver....
Thanks Bull,
Any one else out there????

Was that deal at jdsoffroad becuase that is my local store and they run tons of deals on pro comps and depending on where in NJ you are it might not be that far. When ever I talk to him about tires he tries to get me into the pro comps. I would but I dont think I have the money but he said he might give me a deal.

i've got to say i've been on 33" pro comp mt's for over a year now and i like them especially for there price. they have great sidewall strength, and great mudd gripping abilities w/ the alternatin' small large lug's. the only thing i'd suggest is make sure you rotate your tires ALOT. my front tires wore a lot more and un even when i didn't rotate often. but now everything is fine, 'cause i replace those two tires and bought two new one's. i don't think i'll buy the procomp mt's when eventually move up to 35's. but if you're plannin' on getttin' them i say go for it! oh and four wheeler mag did a write up on the mt/at procomps and they favor the tm's for all types of driving condition's over the AT's. mt=great looks and great mud/snow/wet/dry traction! good luck w/ your decision...

sorry there isn't a link to the article, there was only a link to the issue w/ a summary of the info in that month. its the December 2002 issue. you can buy it on the web there. it also had a good article on installin' a kilby OBA system and a write up on the jeep rubicon.
