Got this 78 cj5 in Georgia! It's gonna be fused with another cj5 to create one kick-ass jeep and a nice(rusty) stock cj. It's got wheels and stuff but it doesnt run and has no brakes. Gonna be a summer project.

The "white one" is grey. That's mine. My brother, Todd, has a yellow 5 on 33's. His body is fallin apart and his 304 is mysteriously not workin so we bought this and are gonna lift it. We are swappin in the sprung over axles and doin some other repairs to have one kick ass black jeep and most of a stock yeller 5 with a spun rear axle and a dead 304. hopefully after this project we can figure out what's wrong with his 304 and have it ready to replace my 258 once it goes south. Ill post pics when I can. Right now There's 33's on the back and stock tires on the front of the black one. The yeller one is opposite. Ill keep ya posted.

lookin good... its not often you see a golde eagle with decent original paint. are you gonna keep the stock look or what?
Just to add fuel to the fire and create random havoc, let me suggest this (although maybe far fetched) have you ever heard of a place south of dallas,TX called Collins Brothers Jeep. They do TOTAL restorations on jeeps... were talkin insane work.. better then new. Now follow me here.. I'm not sayin to have them do work for you or anything.. My suggestion is this... Give them a call.. they may have an intrest in a golden eagle in the shape you got yours in. You may be able to make a quick buck on it and get another jeep AND extra cash. I dont know if the golden eagle thing means much to you but I DO know that they were sought after for a little while.

So what is the deal wit hthe Golden Eagle? Is it just an options package that Jeep was releasing? Looks like they made Golden Eagles from the lat 60's to 1980?
But it looks like a fun restore project!

He he, Thanks for the idea, I have heard of them but the rear axle's allready swapped and Project Southern Bell is all go!
As for the Golden Eagle package, This jeep has a dashpad, and factory sterio, tach and clock in the dash, a levi's version back seat(or what was left of it) and power steering. Fancy aint it? I dont know any more about it. I dont think the Golden Eagle is any kinda performance thing-that is unless the tach makes ya go faster
