A group of us here from the message board are interested in organizing a meet and greet to take place sometime next year. I just want to get a poll started to see if there are enough interested jeepers who would want to participate in this and when.

Hey TJMagoo;
In the results of the poll, can you somehow load the names and locations for everyone that said yes? That way, maybe the people within a certain geographic region could get together for the ride out there. Personally, since I'm driving my 66' all the way from Ca, I'd like to see if I can't meet up with others along the way.

I don't think I am able to do that. This version of phpBB doesn't allow things like that. I will check into it and let you know. If there is no way, why doesn't everyone just post where they would be coming from if they said Yes??? Make sense?

Doesn't the poll keep the member names so that you can avoid duplicate voting? If so, there must be a way to list the people that voted yes. I am about as computer illiterate as one could get so maybe I'm way off. I just know that it would help to see who has, and maybe more importantly, who hasn't signed up.
If not, I guess we'll have to go back to your earlier statement and ask people to post where they're coming from. That just seems like it's going to take a lot more space. Don't you think?
TJMagoo
12-23-2002, 11:37 AM
I agree. But I haven't given up on the idea of tracking by who voted on the poll. I am still checking into it.

Wait just a minute here! What do you agree with? That I'm a computer illiterate or that there must be a way to capture the names?

So first I'm a crappy neighbor, now you're laughing. Man, where's the dog catcher when you need one. And on Christmas eve no less. With my fragile self esteem, I don't know if I can take it.

Sorry man :D I got stuck at work on X-mas eve so theres not much love going around today. I did get a floor jack from my woman. Were doing x-mas eve at her folks house tonight then xmas at my house tomarrow. craftsman 3ton suv high lift jack woooooooo but I can't play with it here at work.
I Think you would be a kick A$$ neighbor. YOu got the tools and I got the kegorator we could really pi$$ off your neighbors woooooooooYA. :D
You know what? I'm about 8 sheets to the wind right now. In other words, REAL F'D UP!!!! :/
I could use a few good neighbors. I do indeed have the tools, everything you could possibly need to pi$$ off some neighbors. As a matter of fact, Gramps got me a new 8 inch grinder. Now that makes some noise.
Anyway, I'm going to have a couple more beers (or twelve), and I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. (Even you Jdogg)
And before I go, I want to encourage EVERYONE, to vote YES, in the meet and greet poll. Keep on Jeepin' !!!!!!!!!!!

i was reading some of the messages in this site and it appears i am going to fit right in(i'm computer illiterate and i drink too much). I just got a computer and I'VE HAD MY JEEP FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS. I just put about two thousand dollars in the engine and it runs great. the meeting is a great idea and i would like to be there, but i need to do some cosmetic work on the rest of the jeep. but it is drivable now. the major part i need right now is the steering column. Any ideas?

I just moved from Temecula Ca, to Wolcott Indiana and Im not sure where the clubs are around here. I am always wanting to go to different place and meet new people.
I think it might be good to find out where everyone lives, then plan a centrally located trip for everyone. My wife and i are willing to drive anywhere to go wheeling and camping. I havent had my jeep out since October 2002. Way too clod to be driving it since i only have a Bikini and a wind jammer, it also doesnt help with my custom cage and i cant put my soft top on anymore. But thats ok, i can always wear tons of clothing to go wheeling.
by the way how do I post a pic on here.
hopefully see you all soon,
Bill and Michelle

Since alot of us are in IL, IN, or OH, and this is the middle for those on the coasts, might I suggest that Badlands as well. It looks like there are several of us who play out there quite a bit, so finding guides wont be a problem. Now I haven't been anywhere else in IN to wheel, but from what I have heard, the Badlands is the best there is in the state. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have been talking with the peeps at 4WDH and they suggested that we have the meet and greet sometime in July when the Canfield Jamboree is going on. Because 4WDH is open later on Saturday and open on Sunday so if anyone breaks anything, we'll be open for parts plus everyone gets I think 10% off that weekend too. What do you guys think about that?

Thanks for the link TJ.
Looks like fun, but not for a meet and greet. How about some sort of trail ride? There are plenty of places to have a trail run. There is even Turkey Bay in KY that would be a good place for one.

No no no. I wasn't talking about going to Canfield. 4WDH has a huge sale the weekend of the Canfield Jamboree and we are open later and even open on Sunday. We can go wheeling (and camping if you want to) at Wellsville, aka Yellowcreek.

Ok. I posted this earlier but it seems to be missing in internet space. I wasn't talking about us going to Canfield. Every year on the weekend of the Canfield Jamboree Nationals, 4WDH holds this huge sale all weekend and is open later and even on Sundays. So I thought we could get a ride going on at Wellsville, aka Yellowcreek for the weekend. That way if anyone needs parts, 4WDH will be open later and you can get the parts discounted.

Jdogg, I have wheeled the Badlands, and have a friends that have Wellsville. From their comparison, the Badlands has much more challenging stuff than Wellsville. (anyone, please correct me if I am wrong). The trails that most people run at the Badlands are anywhere from 3 to 6. There are tougher trails, but you had better be built to do them. I only recently went locked front and rear, so I have note been able to do those trails yet.Either place will probably be different than what you are used to. I used to live out int he desert and most of the stuff ont he west coast is rock and such. In the midwest, it is most mud and hill climbs. There is more mud at Wellsville, and more hill climbing, and some rock at the Badlands. Either way, get ready to give your jeep a bath afterwards.
I don't mind where it is. I am off for the summer and wouldn't mind seeing the country a bit. I always wheel at the Badlands, but wouldn't mind seeing other places as well.If the Badlands is choosen, people can stay at my house if they don't mind a 2 hour drive in the morning. If it is Wellsville, people are always welcome to crash at my place and continue on in a jeepavan in the morning.

01-27-2003, 09:48 PM
well I'm not locked and I don't have a wench but I will hopfully have pleanty of skids and rock guards by that time. Thanks for the info.
I'm in CO and thats the midwest and we don't have a lot of mud just rocks and hills big ones. It's funny we go wheeln and come back home and people don't belive we have been 4wheeln unless your paint is hidden by mud. So we always try to find some mud or a river to get messy in before coming home.

and I don't have a wench . better not let your girl friend hear you say that or she may take away your big screen hdtv. lol
TJ- then it is a good thing i am single at the moment.haha Hey, are you the one I bought my axles and Tc off of this past September?
Jdogg- Sorry, for some reason I thought you were from CA. I guess I should have opened my eyes to your location.haha don't worry about finding mud around here. The mud will find you. The mud is the reason i bought wider flairs right after teh tires. It is actually nice to be able to see out the windows, and the inside of the windshield is somewhat clean. You will probably have a nice coating of mud on the jeep before we even leave the parking lot.

Nice pics Magoo looks like some fun wheelin. Unfortunately OH is a bit far for me. I want to make it to Moab in Utah then I can visit one of my girls and 4 of my grand kids and go 4wheelin too. I probably wont get to do much this summer tho cause I just had back surgery and it looks like I need another BUMMER. Glad I have this forum to go to.
I am definetly game for a meet and greet and a little trail time. I have alot of vacation time to burn off. Just tell me when and I am there.
