Hi all
I own a 99 wj cherokee 4.7 .it is always over heating when stuck in
traffic but when you get moving the temp drops back to normal quickly.
Our Jepp dealer has Replaced the thermostat checked both fans tested
for a blown head gasket and has found nothing any suggestions would be helpfull :x :mad:

I may be way off base here but have you checked your water pump? Maybe you're not getting enough circulation while at an idle to get things cooled off.
Also are you certain that you're heating up? Have you had this checked with a laser thermometer? I'm wondering if your temp sensor and sender is faulty. Had this problem on my brothers GMC, bad sender was saying that he was heating up to 250 + when in reality he was running at normal operating temp.

thanks foud stuffed water pump and blown head gasket what a ***** to change had to strip half the car to get to it but will be done soon thanks again :lol:

Yeah, head gaskets can be a royal pain to change. Just be glad you caught it before it left you stranded or with a blown engine.
Let us know how the repair goes :D
