just bought 07 wrangler x unlimited on 8/26/06 and so far love it, however its been raining since i got so haven't had the top off yet. i've had other jeeps in the past 89 wrangler, 97 cherokee, 78 cj7, and still have 52 cj3a. I really think they have something here. the storage space is great, and the four doors make it easy to get my daughter in and out of the back easy. she loves it too. hopefully raisning another jeeper. i did have a brief hour without rain so i folded the sunrider back and my daughter loved it. just wanted to let you guys know they're out now.

I didn't know the 07's were available yet. I haven't seen any on the lots around here. In fact, the dealers are telling me they aren't sure when they're going to get any. Congrats on your purchase. Post some pics when you get a chnace.

I agree whole heartedly Joel, I saw them at Camp Jeep, and they are an entirely different breed...nothing really close to what we have.

thanks for the help. here are 2 pics of my new wrangler. there is also a pic of my daughter in her first jeep, some of my cj3a, and a couple of my 89 wrangler. the 07 has the sunrider soft top, tow hooks fornt and rear, 245/75 16 tires, power windows;locks;and keyless entry, interior very nice, came with infinity 7-speaker stereo- sounds great. wanted to get some pics with top off, but it wont stop raining around here. the 3.8L engine seems good ample power, but i only have about 100 mi on it so far.

Well i kinda have to pass it everyday so it's not like I drive out of my way everyday, but yea we haven't gotten any in my neck of the woods!! Fort Drum area isn't cool enough I guess :denied:

this may have been adresed but,
Can the doors come off with all those fancy options?
cause it would look cool with those doors offf.

Doors do come off, and the windshield still folds down too, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes the doors come off just like all the other c-y-tj's There are a few dealers round here that have them already. I love the idea of 4 doors espically with kids.

yes doors do come off, and windshield folds down, however since the front windshield is curved slightly there is only one hinge in the middle of the window, and it does seem like it would be a little harder to fold it down than it was on my 89 sahara.
the four door is nice when you have kids. a lot easier to get them in and out. i took my daughter for a ride the other day with the top down and she loved it.

Great looking truck. How are it's on-road manners? I am considering it for a daily driver and an occassional travel car for my wife and I and our 2 yr old. I am bouncing back and forth between it and a FJ Cruiser. I love the soft top option though. I also own a Land Rover Defender 90. Would it be crazy to own a Defender and a Wrangler?
Thanks for any input. SM

It would be crazy NOT to own a Wrangler if you own a Defender 90... Your recovery and towing bills would be astronomical...

In all seriousness... If you can afford to foot the bill, you have an OBLIGATION to buy one :toothles:

it drives great on the road. no problem cruising at 70 on the highway. soft top very quiet for a wrangler. my daghter is 2 yrs old also and she loves riding in it with the top down. my wife has yet to drive it, but commented on the ride quality.

Ok, after months of researching and test driving FJ Cruisers, it's looking more and more like a Jeep for me. What are the guys on the Rover and FJ boards gonna think? ;)

Superficially, they will lambaste you and giggle sophomorically about how you bought a Jeep. Subconciously, they will be rife with envy and harbor deep fear that they will some day cross paths with you and need assistance trying to negotiate a speed bump at the mall... :17: :Welcome: :ffc:

Do me a favor - take a picture with the back door open of the seat area. I am just curious how much room is back there.

From the articles I have read, it has more leg and hip room in the back as well as cargo room than the FJ or xTerra. Hard to believe, but good.
