 We just got in out first 2007 Four Door JK...
I already had the letter written all I was waiting for was some Photos.
When it got here today I ran out and snapped a few photos put them up on my server and emailed out a photo link to my list of interested Jeepers and prospective Jeepers.
Here is the link to the photos I snapped. http://jeeptales.com/galleries/07JK/index.html
The other sales people had list of interested folks and started calling.
There are five or six folks in our waiting room waiting for us to finish the PDI and prep so they can test drive this new Jeep.
I must say; based on the response I think DC may have another winner even bigger then the 2003 Rubicon in 2002!
I wonder if I'm going to get a chance to drive it before someone buys this one.

The 4 door is way overdue. I think DC having a 2wd version will make the sales of this huge. My wife really like the pics of it, and as soon as the local dealer gets one, she wants to go look (but it will be a few years till we get one).

My first impression is that it looks like a 30-40's era car with the huge running boards and big boxy passenger area and big rounded fenders. Something that should have suicide doors and gangsters in.

I still like it. If I could get one with SY/diesel/rubicon/4dr I would start looking for a part time job to pay for it. Might have to wander over to Northpoint Jeep this weekend and see if they got any yet.

Today I logged about 45 miles in this new JK rig.
GREAT RIDE... It?s a lot like a cross between the last generations of Grand Cherokees and the 2001 XJs no doubt when you drive it this is 100% Jeep DNA.
I like: The loops for the door swing limiters and the power source to the electric door locks and windows are integrated into one piece and come with a handy clip for removing the doors.
The acceleration is fantastic and you will be stunned by how quiet it is next to no road sounds are transmitted into the occupant compartment and even with its extended length the handling is crisp and nimble. If you hit a speed bump in this Jeep at speeds of more than 25 MPH you will not need to check for body or undercarriage damage but you will know you just hit a bump?
The Upgraded Stereo Rocks and even a guy of my stature 250 lbs. and 5' 7" tall fits well in the drivers? seat or in the back seat for that matter.
The Cup holder is big enough for a Peach Smoothie from Sonic and all the car hops had to come out to take a look at it.
I will admit the one we have seems to have a disturbing wind noise in the hard top at highway speeds but we will put it in service tonight and see if we can track down the source of the noise. I think it will only take minor adjustment to the latch to get rid of this excess wind noise because it not happening on the Driver?s side.
If you are in the market for a Jeep this one will not disappoint you at all, now just pick do you need a Four Door or a Two Door?

No you can't order a 2006 TJ any more; in fact, the last 2006 TJ was a Red Unlimited Rubicon that was on display at Camp Jeep last month.
I'm selling everything we have left for Dealer's Invoice Less the $1,500.00 Rebate. To any internet customer who submits an online request. Easy upfront pricing; and you get to buy it from me... No one will work harder to sell you a New or Used Jeep than I will.
If you ever served our county in any branch of the US Military there is another $500.00 Rebate you can use by presenting your DD-214 or your ID Active Duty ID card.

I know DC is in POW-WOW’s now looking in to rebates that will spark sales.

As of yestrerday...
We only had 25 TJs on the lot LWB & SWB together...
Our normal stock leval is around 130 Wranglers or a 90 Day Supply.
So with 25 TJ and 7 JK we are way short.
I bet you we will sell our last TJ before the end of October.
As soon as the 4x4 JK start hitting the ground they will start flying off the shelves. :vbac476:
I'll bet you I take at least 4-6 Orders at the YO Ranch next week.

I thought that too. (at First)
But then I remember about 8 or 9 years ago when my Wife and I bought a New Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab with suicide doors.
They were so cool unless you had a baby in tow with all the stuff that comes with a toddler, then it is a pain in the a$$ when you are in a parking lot next to another car.
When I saw the doors open on an FJ a few months ago I remember saying to myself ?that won?t be around too long?.

I have to differ with all of you. I think it is the WORST thing DC could have ever done. Suburbanizing Jeeps is in my opinon, is nothing short of unethical. They already have 4drs 2 and 4WD vehicles, they are called Cherokee and Liberty. Very capable, tried and true. Why go and ruin a time honored tradition. If its all in the name of marketing, they could stand a swift kick in the shorts! I think I speak for all Diehard CJ'ers. Thanks for your time.

So if I want a 4 door, 4wd, I am supposed to go with a Jeep that I don't want or a used Jeep so I can get that? The wife and I want to start a family, we don't want to have a vehicle that the kids will outgrow. The JK fits the bill perfectly. It is a 4 door, 4wd, and a drop top. Personally the JK, 2 and 4 door outshines anything else in the present Jeep lineup.
We all have our opinions. And I think we can all agree to disagree.

Jeep has tried time and time again to keep trademarks and tradition, ie... The 7 slot grill lawsuit with GM. All they are tring to do is compete with Hummer and the new FJ. Which i undertand, but they alerady have the platforms to compete with. Tried and true and award winning veh. Why mess up a good thing, thats all I am saying. CJ/Wranglers have always been 2-dr. That is one of their trademarks.
Side bar: I am not triing to start a fight a but... Why shut off the reply notification option? I know Moderators can do what they want, but I am interested in everyone else's reponse also. Isn't that why there this is a "forum"? That's a little childish to turn it off.

I didn't turn it off. No reason too. I enjoy the back and forth that CJ traditionalists and people that don't pledge loyalty to one specific model. If you are on the site when the reply is made I don't think it notifies you, but don't know for sure.
Anyway, you say why mess up a good thing, well why is making the JK Wrangler a 4 door messing it up? They improved the wheelbase and track width on the CJ's, that isn't messing it up. The YJ wasn't a messed up CJ, it is wider and a bit more stable, again improved. I am just trying to understand what about the JK is messed up, I mean other than the government mandated bs?

Yup, I agree with scrambler. Now if they had totally ditched a 2 door model and had only a 4 door, then yea, that would be sacrilege.
IMO, the 4 door Wrangler takes the place of the old XJ, but with a removable top. While it can be capable, the Libby just does not fill the XJ's shoes.
And reply notification (subscriptions?) is turned on, you just need to select it.

I like it a lot...
Yesterday I noticed that the 2006 2 Door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon sells for $1,500.00 more then the same 2007 does.
So with the current rebate on the 2006 the 2007 sell for almost the same price.

Heck the Jeep website shows base price as lower too. But hey, there was an article that mentioned that. More stuff but lower price, how can you beat it. I really do believe that DC did right by the Wrangler name with this one. There will never be another CJ, but if they keep using the Wrangler name I hope they continue to do well with it.

Jeep couldnt keep making the CJ's for years upon years, due to technology and the government. I'll admit, I have been away from the jeep scene for a bit (I know, I know) messing with my dodge/cummins so much, but I will say I am not impressed with the looks of the jk, but I will keep an open mind about it and see if it grows on me. I would love to be able to walk into the jeep dealer today and order a CJ7 with a 304 and T-18 and have it delivered next week, but I am going to wind up building mine. Thats what makes it fun to me. I agree, dont let the tried and true die, but at the same time, you have to update with technology, or you get stuck in the past forever. Heck, for awhile I was thinking about stretching my CJ to 4 doors but I am not that great at body work so it wouldnt be worth the effort (I can easily do the hard work with the frame and everything, but body work SUCKS!!!).
All I am saying is you dont have to like the JK right off the bat (I havent been keeping track myself) but just keep an open mind and maybe it will come to you. if it doesnt you still have your CJ...

Well. lets see...Have you driven one? I have and really enjoy the ride of this one. I have yet to have problems off road. We are doing aonther run the 18th. I will post pics afterwards.
As far as other Jeeps. I have owned and still own a CJ7, the are a great rig...but you are in the year 2006!!! I have also owned a YJ, 4 TJ's an Unlited Rubicon, a WJ and an XJ. and to say the new 4 door JK is like a zj, wj or xj is someone who has yet to truely look at this rig. the other are not even in its class.
to say Jeep is copying hummer....not even close. face it...you appear to be closed minded to great achivements in the modern Jeep.

Agreed, these JK's are a welcomed addition to the family and still blow the Hummer's away (still as in does not still as in a step down). Still waiting to see the H4 which is supposed to be targeting the Wrangler specifically as an opened cockpit design. haven't heard of it in a year I'd say though...when the next big auto show???

There were a few JKs there.
Check out some of the photos they look like they were holding their own.
Saw some 4 doors at the dealership the other night. I am not too impressed with it. I didnt like the console setup inside and the doors seem to be really flimsy. You can grab the handle and move it in and out by pushing and pulling. Being the first year, I am waiting to see the changes/improvements in the following years. Not quite sold on it yet, but, I dont hate it.
