TJ Heater

On my way to work this morning, I had my heater on the 3rd level. I, like 10 minutes after I started running it, then heard this flapping coming from what sounded like inside my dash. Flapping or clicking, I am not good at describing sounds. Anyways, I shut it off and the sound went away. Turned it back on, level 1 and 2 ok but put it back on 3 and the noise was back.

Any ideas on what this might be??? I just had the dealership replace the blower last May.

When my parents took a TJ for a test drive, we also heard a rattle in the vents. After looking for a little bit, we found one of the thin black thingys that direct the air had broken off and went into the vent. Hope you find the cause.

I purchased my '99 TJ in March of 2001. while I was test driving it, I heard that noise also, they had to replace the entire heater box housing, under warranty(very common problem) you may ask your dealer about a recall or you need to order your rubi dear! :roll: TJ

Get this...now the noise is gone. The heater still works and all speeds work too. Very weird. I wonder if something blew up in there...Very interesting

Prolly just had a leaf or paper get up in there and was hitting the fan.......... Lets hope so anyway!
