I have not done much research on this new JK. I kinda like the way it looks.
Someone please tell me that this new edition comes with the hemi option.

Daimler Chrysler would be f#%$ing stupid NOT to build 5,000 of these beauties with a V8.

Also, can anybody tell me why Jeep never offered a V8 in the YJ's or the TJ's? I would love to see a Jeep with 35's toast a Camaro and a Mustang (both of which I do respect).

1 word, Liability.
TJ's and YJ's with a modern v-8 for most people would spell disaster. That and they are not sports cars, they are Jeeps...
Rumor is the JK Unlimited will have a V-8 option (no word on if it will be a Hemi, but I think the whole "Hemi" crap is way overblown), probably late in the 2007 model year, but more than likely in the 2008 model when it will also probably get the new 4.0 V-6

I have driven two TJs with HEMIs in them and it is a sure way to get killed!

Those are TJ's though, Jk's have a longer wheelbase and extra weight. I'm not saying it would be safe as a Grand Cherokee...but close enough they should do it.

**** the hemi they need to get a diesel in them asap. and let the us here in the the states buy them instead of just over sea's that would be nice

is it just me or does the frame seem to be alot lower compared to the body looks like my tj's frame is tucked up in a couple in more. possible that the TJ's have a little more clearence frame wise?

Those 4 door unlimiteds have such a long wheel base it makes the stock look even worse on ground clearance. Honestly Wranglers stock never had great ground clearance, my buddies Frontier and Tacomas definitely beat us on stock...but Jeep is all about the possibilities.

Got another word for you....Rocker Guards. I love the fact that these guys are offroading their JK's already, pictured in other posts. But please pay a shop to make some custom plate steel Rocker Guards...your asking for a pricey lesson in Jeeping.

postj---i totally agree with you on the diesel, but along with the diesel option(cummins i think, something thats loud) there should be a hemi option, i would like to see a jeep smoke a camaro or a stang. but back to the idea with the loud diesel, wouldnt that be great just takin the top off and cuise around listing to that beautiful cummins diesel, i get goosebumps just thinkin about it.

atomic4x4.com has a good write up of v8 swaps in Tjs!

they do hemi's, 5.9s, and 5.2s! looks pretty awesome to me!

I dont have the money but someday i plan on putting one of those 5.2s in my Tj!
