Ok here goes. I can pick up a rolled over (driveable, no frame damaged). '95 Reg cab 4x4 Cummins w/4:10 w/ auto. I'm thinking that I'll shorten the frame to fit a ?J tub. Toss on some 36's and go wheel. Nice thought huh?

im kind of in that process, but throwin the engine drivetrain etc under a comanche.. tight fit in the engine bay.. the engine isnt just long, its tall.. its actually just a tad longer than the 4L, just a heck of alot wider and taller..crap is it tall haha... and this is gona be my gf's truck haha

I've been tossing ideas of doing something similar with a wrecked TJ and putting a CJ body on it.

Saw a built Cj in Canada, guy widened it and streatched it to fit a Suburban chassis.

I like the sound of your project idea. The main challange will be to shorten the drivetrain enough to fit the tub. Maybe use an Unlimited tub? That would be FUN!
