rear lamp failure but all lights work?

so my middle brake light was out and i replaced it and still says rear lamp failure!? :no:

Have you chased your lines to make sure they're in good condition and not grounding out on you?

Have you done any recent electrical work and possibly disconnected the wrong wire?

Just a couple of ideas.

I have an idea. Since everything anymore is computer controlled maybe the computer needs to be reset. I have heard that this can be done by removing the battery cable for a few seconds. :t
