Hey all, new guy here, hopefully soon to be a first time Wrangler owner :D
After unsuccessfully searching for a Jeep that matched my criteria, I've had the dealer place an order to build one to my specs, a silver 2 door X hardtop :vbac476:
I was quoted a lead time of 10-12 weeks, but the guys at the LA Auto Show said 6-8, has anyone else here had a JK built to order? How long did it take?
Thanks.

Ours took just under 4 weeks.... it helps were a couple hours from Toledo..
its a 2 door, X model.. Make sure you get the tow package.. Your going to want the 4:10 gearing and the D44 rearend.

Thanks, I'm obviously out here on the West coast, so I figure it'll take an extra week to be delivered, 5 weeks would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath :)

Yep, I've already opted for the tow package for exactly that reason.
It's an X with the S package too, I've gone for the tow and power options, the limited slip diff, the speaker package and the 17" wheels :)

...17" wheels :)
That will cost some money, getting tires that fit on a 17" rim.

The OEM 17" tires are only about $125 each from tire rack and BF Goodrich make some nice looking A/T tires for about $150 per, given that the tires on my motorcycle cost about $250 for the pair and are only good for 5,000 miles, I'm pretty ok with the cost of the car tires :)
If I get more serious about off roading I'll probably get some 16" steel wheels and mount off road rubber on those to save scratching up the original wheels.
I've even seen a set of the 16" alloys on ebay for $650 or thereabouts, but the 17" wheels and tires that cost $275 as an option are $2,000 to install as aftermarket parts.
Bear in mind that the 2007 Rubicon and Sahara come with 17" wheels stock, the Sahara even has an 18" option, but I don't like the looks of them.
