XJ's rock

What is stock size for you jeep and what year do you have?

I have stock 16's on mine. I'm guessing you have the steel rims so 15's X8 thats pretty stock for most of them.

street and off road ablilities. bf at ko's for both uses not to loud yet good on and off the road. how often are you going to be off roading?

i like to go off road about once a week or so. just for kicks ya know. My jeep is a 2000 xj cherokee, its all stock. on the tires i have now it says p225 70 r 16
i have no idea what that means!!
im all new to this stuff. i just got my jeep and i love the adventure of driving off road. i hunt alot and to get to the places i hunt i have some rough trail on the way to my cabin. There is nothing like driving off road. It gets my heart beating and i love going places where other people cant.

p225 is height and 70 is with and the r is form rim size. I have 16's allowes on my jeep and my jeep chick has the stock steel rims. The big difference is the price from a 15 inch rim to a 16 inch rim. about 10 to 40 bucks more per tire depending on what your going to go with. I'm swapping out the rims and tires I have now with my girl. She needs new tires hers are getting bad and mine still have some life to them.

Now the next set I'm getting are the 32x11.50 r15

not many people use these yet. A few GC owners and some XJ owners. and I've only talked with one TJ guy that had them. they all like them alot.
Good tracking in mud and not bad on land there not that loud and they hold up well on pavment pretty well. I found them at sam's club and there only a bit over 100 thats with mounting balance and they have a tread warty thing for them as well. aslong as there over 50% tread left and there is any problem with it they will replace it.

BFS at to's are nice they work good for both and there muds rock but they are all heavy on the pocket book.

I had a set of Bridgestone dueler at's, but had tread wearout problems. I switched over to set of 30x9.50 bfg at's and absolutely love em. They give me a better ride on pavement and better traction off road. hopefully one day, i'll be able to go bigger after i can find a good inexpensive lift kit.

what price are you looking at spending on a kit?

The new GeoLanders are supposed to be pretty good on-highway. I wouldn't know for sure though, never tried them. I am wearing a set of BFG Mud Terrain KM's and they're very tame on the highway.

If you are new to this stuff, wheel with your JEEP for a while first to understand its limits in stock form. The stock 225/70/16 are a factory tire and are made to perfom in most conditions. Learn the limits of the tires and why you need bigger/aggressive ones. If I was you I'd hold off on the lift and invest my funds in different areas. Tow hooks and tow rope/strap, a CB set, extra lighting, air compressor etc. A high lift jack should be one of the first. If you don't know how to use one ASK. Any JEEPer or off-roader worth his salt will help. Listen I'm not trying to preach here dude, just start slow and you will enjoy each modification as you go along. I started wheeling 15years ago; I don't know it all but I learn a bit as I go along. Do the same trust me. Enjoy your JEEP!

I meant noise, I can actually hear a conversation now. They're brand new, I have been waiting for these things for about three weeks. I originally planned to put them on my whitespokes and run the Thornbirds I had on a set of new beadlocks.

They turned out to be pretty good off road in a dry creek bed I wheel around in. Haven't had too much of an experience with these things yet, but they air down pretty well.

Well, since I ordered them before the dealer officially started carrying them (yeah, this model is new) they charged me a little extra... almost $200 per tire, then comes in shipping and handling, for five tires. All said and done almost $1260 for five tires, that you can probably get now for just over $140 each at National Tire & Wheel. It's a regular set of 33x10.5's.... The price of keeping up with the Jones' I'll never do THAT again.

ouch sounds like he didn't cut you much a deal. wow 200 did you just get a set of 4 or 5.

See thats something I've been debating about getting a set of 4 or 5 I would like to get 6 but that wont happen right away. I'd like one for a roofrack. and one for the rear tire carrier neither of those I have at this point so I guess 4 is my anwser. good lord I need to go to bed.

It was for a set of 5. No, not much of a deal.... but I had to have the latest and greatest. Next time, I'll wait for the price to drop before buying the "next new thing"

I was wrong, I AM legally retarded.
