I am thinking of getting these and slapping a 35" tire on them for the jk 2 door i have. I was thinking of a kind of retro look and going with tube bumpers and tube rock rails or step tubes.
What do you all think about something like that?

Are you going to wheeling it if so then the tube bumpers and side bars won't hold up.

I have and I am going to take it off-road quite a bit, and I have thought about that. That is why I seem to be wondering what to do. I wanted a retro look, but I am not sure how the rims would look with a pure jeep stubby bumper and some sort of rock rails or rocker guards...

black steelies always look great and are cheap. the new looks seems to be the round holes instead of the "D" shaped ones. my 0.02

Do not stick TOOB bumpers on a JK. Seriously they aren't retro at all, they look like crap. If you can afford a new JK, you should buy some good quality bumpers. Tons of companies are coming out with awesome new bumpers for JK's.

Honestly son you scare me...Those tube bumpers are so ugly, And even the rims you can find better.

I think the rims are kind of nice. Don't be a hater!
Do what you want to your Jeep. Just be prepared to be laughed at. Trust me, I know!

Fine constructive help. The good news is, I think, those ugly tube bumpers don't even come available for JK's. Besides those tube bumpers, which you don't want to get for looks and if you plan offroading you can't lift your vehicle by them., don't get the olymipic defender front or BOA front.. those are so fugly. Warn you can't go wrong with, looks and performance. Body armor doesn't look all bad. Teralfex and Pure Jeep look ok.
Rims: spyderlocks look awesome as a 1st choice. Black steelies work, those Series 8089 with the chrome outer rims look very nice. and the Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Wheels always turn a Jeep into a respectable looking Jeep.
I screwed up too and bought the wrong rims and bumpers at first and had to sell them on ebay to get things that could stand up to offroading. In the end its true your jeep is your jeep, thats some of the beauty of Jeeps.

are you going to mount a winch? if so, get a bumper with a between the rail mounts,
and the Purejeep looks awesome on a liifted JK....

it's your jeep do what you like. i myself hate the tube bumpers. i had them on one of my yj's. bent, broke and smashed them till they fell off. i'm sure my 1945 willys cj2a isn't going to turn out the way the purest would like and the hard core moders are going to think its gay. in the end its your jeep have fun w/ it and thats all that matters.
