Ok I need help. I have a 2002 TJ with 6cyl. and Auto. Trans. I located a Dana 60 rear axle and a Dana 44 front axle with 5:13 gears and they are the same with as the TJ . The axles were in a CJ that is parted out ( passenger side diff. ) . I have a ( 1985 )Dana 300 T-Case in my garage. So my question is will the Dana 300 work with the Auto Trans. ( front drive shaft clearance on passenger side ) ? 8)

:D I'm sure it can be done but there are some things to think about: A d-300 will hang down A LOT. I'm sure Advanced or Novack will sell you an adapter but they won't tell you that your tranny pan might need to be notched for the front d-shaft. You might not be able to clock it because the tranny case is too wide. I have one and I love it. These are some of the things I ran into. There is a company in Colorado that makes a flip kit to use them in TJ's. I saw the article on www.4x4wire.com. Very well writen.Good luck P.S. That is way more rear axle than you need, more weight, less clearance. How about another d44 or a 9".both have at least 1 more inch clearance than a d60 and a lot less weight

I know that the 60 is more than I need but if the price is right I have to go with it. I found a Xtreme 300 rotator disc from SRC Precision Products jeepxtremes.com that will clock the 300 and using the 300 will add 8 inches to the rear drive shaft. But as far as the front axle I think I might narrow my own 44 so I can have a high-clearance steering ( on top of the knuckles ). I am going to open the 60 up this weekend to see if it is worth the money or if I should go shopping some more. Thanks for your reply rockmup . :)
P.S. I plan to get a new lift and 36, 37, or 38 have to check the lift law so I dont go over it to much

 Be carefull. Make sure you can return the indexing ring if it wont work in your application. If the 44 your looking at is the right width you can just swap out flat top knuckles without getting a whole new axle. Have fun.
