When could I expect sliding glass windows to be available?
I know I will not be as keen on this plastic window option once winter arrives.
BTW I love my new 07. So glad I bought it.

No idea, but let me be one of the first to say..

:worthle:

I always wanted to do that. Post some pics for us. By the way, congrats on the 07! I would imagine there would be something available in the aftermarket pretty soon.

Very nice! Looks like there's pretty good visibility out of the plastic windows. I looked around on our hosts site and couldn't find anything for you. But, there's a lot of great guys and gals on this board that may be able to help you out. Enjoy the Jeep and welcome to the boards!:wavey:

Thank you so much. Visibility is great. Although hesitant, I am totally pleased with the doors and so glad I didnt buy the full door version. The cross breeze is amazing. Every option except the sub woofer. Quoted $700 by the dealer. Saving up for that. All in all I much prefer it now to my 06 Unlimited. Felt like a traitor at first but its still all jeep to me. Thanks for the welcome also.

your no trader. that is still a jeep just as the tj was still a jeep in 97 and just as the yj was still a jeep in 87. i've been driving jeeps for the last 10 years and have had cj's yj's and now a jk. i really like the 1/2 doors! i hope that bestop will come out w/ a set of super doors for the jk unlimited. i live on the 3rd floor apt and it's a pain in the a$$ humping them all they way up there......:lmao: i said hump :lmao:

I do notice I dont get waved at anymore. I was wondering if the new 4 door was outcast. Glad to hear you think not.

i think that the problem is that alot of people driving tj's think the jk isn't a real jeep. the only problem is that a large % of tj drivers haven't been driving their tj's since 1997. and i doubt very much they drove a yj or cj before that. keep in mind this is just what i see and by no means is this 100% of jeep tj/yj/cj drivers. i remember in 1997 when the tj came out all the yj drivers said it was a pos. it was the new kid on the block and the yj owners didn't like it because of all the fu-fu comfort stuff. it wasn't till a year or so later when people started wheeling them that they were accecpted as real jeeps by the majority. most peple forget that yj stood for "yuppi jeep":joke: but i think that was the last real jeep built. they were uncomfortable to drive long distances because of leaf springs, they stunk, needed to be worked on all the time, and anyone w/ tool know-how could tear it down to the frame in the back yard. but when the yj came out the cj guys thought it was a little wussy jeep. the cj5 guys felt the same about the cj7 and cj8 when they came out, so forth and so on. i just came back from the jamboree at snowshoe and my totaly stock jk did better than other lifted tj's and yj's. in 2006 the tj and tj unlimited were the hight of jeep evoluation. sorry to say that now that the jk is here there is a new boss in town and it's a very capable jeep. maybe more so than a stock tj (vs stock jk). but there is plenty of room for all of us. were still jeeps. so freaken wave damb it!

SORRY I WENT OFF A LITTLE BIT,....OOPS

I had an 86 CJ-7 Laredo, and more recently a 99 TJ Wrangler, not to mention a lot of Cherokees, Grand Wagoneers, and a Grand Cherokee Laredo as well as a Commanche or two. I just wish people would stop telling me my JK looks like a Hummer. I keep telling them it's the other way around.
What came first? The.... well, you get it.

"Looks like a hummer". I was shocked. I said "you are losing the sale".
I stood back and thought this jeep is gorgeous. I pity Hummer drivers for their poor choice. How could they pass this Jeep up. Value for money, it is in a class of its own. Style also. Walked away. Left the closing. Went back next day and bought it with a clear head. No regrets. 2 friends have bought one since I showed them mine last week. One converted from a Range Rover. If any people are on the fence, jump. Its worth the landing.

I dont doubt that the JK is a great jeep, it's just that 90% of the people i see driving 4-door JKs are soccer moms too preoccupied with talking on their cells and planning their kid's next birthday party to wave back... or they just look at me funny.

Plus I have trouble taking a 4-door jeep as seriously as a 2-door... seems like you would lose a lot of off road ability but i may be wrong.

A buddy of mine and I were in Colorado doing some trails. He has a CJ7, lifted and locked, etc., and I took my new JK 4dr Rubicon that has a slight lift. We joined up with a guy from Texas who had a 4dr Sahara, stock.

We went down a wrong path that quickly turned into a nightmare with no where to turn around. Winches, tow straps, and a few foul words were used. At one point, while trying to get through a couple of trees that were on a sideways slope with roots jutting out on the high side, my JK broke free of the root and slammed hard into the tree on the low side. It wacked the big fender flare hard and I just assumed that some permanent damage was done. I backed out of it and checked later. The fender flare was awesome. Barely even a smudge on it and no damage to anything else.

The lockers and the sway bar disconnect work fantastically. I was also very impressed with the way the Sahara performed.

We went somewhere we shouldn't have gone and the only permanent damage I did was to my nerf bars which kept the huge rocks from getting into my sheet metal. The CJ7's only advantage was it was shorter and narrower.

I guess what I'm saying is that the JK 4 door proved itself to me to be a very capable Jeep. I'm lucky enough to also have a CJ7. I love them both. Just my honest opinion. HBC

my stock 4 door kicked *** at the snowshow jeep jamboree. i have no mods just unbolted the sway bar links. it took the cj5 guys a while to accecpt the cj7, it took the cj guys awhile to accecpt the yj "yuppie jeep" in 97 we didn't like the tj's and now the tj's and all older jeep will need a year or so to accecpt the jk 4 door. i still know and see lots of people driving leaf springs and tj's that don't wave. they are socker moms rocking a 4banger automatic.

back to the topic...does anyone know if they are planning on making fabric upper and lower doors for the 4 door?
