Well, you knew it had to happen. The madness begins...
no sooner had 4wd confirmed that they could get me the ARB bumper I wanted than ARB responded to my earlier inquiry stating that yes, the part fits BUT I have to upgrade the front suspension in order to maintain the driveability of my new Liberty.
:drive:
I really didn't want to have to start changing out systems on this Jeep. But this insanity just won't quit, no matter where I go, no matter what I do. So now I have to look at the least possible suspension change I can do without causing that change to cascade over into more changes.

Tom, you know, it's the virus, there's no cure... so since you have to change the suspension anyways, how about a lift? and tires? and? :sad6:

No need new credit card, thankee.
Just need to have front and rear armored against Boston drivers.
:wall:
I just hate it that this is going to siphon off resources that were aimed at upgrading the TJ.
waawaawaaa, my ***** hurts.
Yeah, I know.

:22: I told you there is no escape from the Jeepthing!:rotflmao:
:sorrysig: You know I had to razz you. But for real, I feel bad for you. You got trapped in the domino effect. One little mod makes you have to get another, and another, and another. And it's by necessity, not choice. :egg: So you're stuck. I hope you can find a solution.

Oh, I'll get over it. It's just annoying as all get-out.
I'm thinking I'll drag my feet slightly, get the bumper shipped sometime next week and have it painted and prepped, and try to delay the install until after Labor Day (long highway trip)... and then have it mounted and see what it does to the suspension. If it affects the handling very much, I'll have to go into upgrade mode... and if not, then I'll try to nurse it through the winter while I get stuff done to the TJ.

George says you have his sympathies. He's been through Boston quite a few times in his Big Rig. So he understands completely why you need that protection for the front and rear of your new Jeep.
