I have a ford 300 straight 6 and I am wondering what it will take to get it installed into a 1995 Jeep wrangler. The currnet setup is a 2.6 4cyl with a AX5 trannie. I know that i will need to get new engine mounts and trannie. Wondering where i could get the mounts, will the ford 4 on the floor work in the jeep, and what about transfercase and driveshafts. If someone could help me i would be grateful.

If you can get the donor motor paired with the tranny and electrical harness you could swing it by contacting advanced adapters or look in 4WDH catalog, I even bet the folks at 4WDH tech support could answer the question "IS THERE AN ADAPTER TO MATE THE FORD 4 SPEED TO THE NP231J TRANSFER CASE?"
Also be concerned with how tall the Ford motor is as I remember isn't the 300 a pretty tall motor? You have a bunch of room to play with in the YJ engine compartment but check, recheck, and check again, you will also want to measure from the crank pulley to the output shaft of both setup that is the 2.5 with the AX and the Ford setup. You might or might not have to buy a longer or shorter drive shaft.
I have a real strong feeling the guys at 4WDH is the best place to start and if they don't know they'll find out who does.
Best of luck, sounds like a heck of a swap the 300 is one of the torqiest motors around. Might also think about upgrading to a stronger axle or getting a superior super 35 kit for that YJ to handle the added torque.
Take care let me know how it turns out.
Such a cool swap.
