When I was looking for new flares, everyone seemed to imply these were crap. They were wrong. When you first get them out of the box, they feel a little flimsy, but once mounted they're pretty stiff, not as stiff as bushwackers, but in a good way. The only down side is you have to drill all the holes, and there's a lot. Keeps the jeep a lot cleaner and they look great, everyone thinks they're expensive bushwackers. Mine have stayed shiny since I got them over a month ago, and trust me, they've been covered in mud the majority of the time. The hardest part of the install was getting the old ones off.

Feel free to PM me any questions about them.

Have you rubbed these against any rocks or trees yet? Just curious how they held up or if they shattered/crack like the bushwackers do.

Haven't hit anything too solid, just small trees and branches. They really don't feel like they'd shatter, maybe get spider marks like plastic does when it bends. And for the price you could replace a few before the price equaled out to the other brands.

Just wanted to do an update. After 4 months covered in mud, they clean up like new with just water. No cracks or breaks, they look the same as the day I put them on. Recently saw a pair of Buchwackers up close and the S.B. flares are a lot more textured. In comparison, the B.W. flares are made of "brittle" plastic that give a lot less. I like the S.B. flares A LOT BETTER than the B.W., and am still glad I bought the Smittybilt flares. Saved a lot of $$$ too!!

so far i'm not real happy with mine.the first set i was sent was short hardware and had unreadable directions.the plastic was way to thin where they mount to the body and i had to supply my own washers to fix the problem.they also came with this crappy style weather stripping wich was a real pain to put on correctly.

now the second set because i had to replace the defective ones are much better.in my opinion still a little week near where they mount to the body but better because the holes were smaller and a little thicker.again these also shipped with missing hardware but i had what i needed from the old set.the best part about about the second set is they came with a different style weather stripping wich was 100 times easier to put on and looks better.

i love the look of them and i will update in a couple of months how they held up through the summer and on the trails

if your putting these on a yj heres a tip.be real carefull when your drilling into the drivers side fender because if you go to deep into the fender you will drill a whole in you washer fluid tank.ask me how i know this
