Sorry for the bad pic, but it's all I have right now.
I installed these a little while ago and am happy with them. They were fairly easy to install; there is a rubber seal on the end of the new housing that is a tight squeeze through the stock CJ bucket, but it does fit.
I am considering cutting an access hole in my grille shell to change bulbs without having to remove the lights.
The pattern is good enough, I had to radically adjust them from where the sealed-beams were, but once I got them dialed in, I like it.
The bulbs are ok, not great, but for the price it's all good. When they go (or maybe sooner) I'm switching to either Fatboy bulbs or a bright white. I'll be installing relays first...but that's stock wiring, not the product.
Overall, I'm happy with them and would do it again.
Plus they look really cool!

Do they take special wiring at all. I should redo my wiring to my lights anyway. I keep burning out my high beam switch.

Are they noticeably brighter than the stock ones?

I have them in my TJ and they do seem brighter than stock, not quite as yellow. My question is for Gryphon....do yours have an even light pattern to them? One of mine has almost like a rectangle shaped pattern that I can't seem to get adjusted quite right. Maybe I got a bad one?

They have those weird rectangles...the pattern is just a little strange. They do reach out farther. Kind of challenging to get adjusted, but once you do, it's good...just looks weird until you get used to it.
No wiring changes. Plugs right into the stock plug. I plan on adding relays for several reasons, one to see if I can get more light outta them. They are brighter than my stockers, I just want bigger, better, faster, more!
And yes, they are pretty white, brighter than the stockers.

Not to try to spark a controversy on this... and certainly not to argue.
I got the IPF headlight conversions, and it's a simple plug in. They are a little more expensive, but available from our hosts here.
Light pattern is very good, and they are significantly brighter than stock and Sylvania Silverstars. Can't say enough good about them.
Hope this isn't posted in the wrong spot. If it is, mods please feel free to "do your thing".

Adding relays will help alot. I have Cibie's (I think thats how it' spelled, a big CB on the front of the light) They were in the donor CJ I bought, so I put them in the Beast. Better then the stockers, but, like you, I wanted bigger, faster and brighter!! So I did the relay upgrade, even better!
Back to the point, when you do the relays, don't forget to upgrade the ground wires also, as they complete the circuit. A first I only did the ''hot'' wires (ran out of wire!) and there was not alot of difference, after finishing (the grounds) it's great!
For the cost of 2 relays and the wire, it's a worthwhile upgrade! HB
OX, this will help with the burned out switches, as all the switch will activate is the relay, therby less heat in the stock wiring. I went through 3 switches in 1 year before going to relays.

Can someone run through the process of using relays. Do you just run a wire from the battery or fuse box to the relay for the main power, and the one from the swich to activate the relay? Hill, Bill E, when you mention the ground, do you mean the ones directly on the lights themselves?

Yes, the ground wires from the bulb(s) to the chassis. I have a diagram saved of the basic relay hookup. I'll see if I can find it. HB

Here's a sight that explains the process, has wire diagrams and general guidance for doing it correctly. Good Luck! HB

I liked the IPF's too, just the Rampage kit was cheaper. JP magazine just did a comparo and they were ranked about the same. They griped about the weird rectangles in the Rampage lights too.
