Ok, I caught some flack when I bought these from some of the mudder crowd for buying "show truck tires".

They can kiss my dust. These are the best AT tires I have ever run on.

I just rotated them after about 6k miles. No wear. I run 25 psi in 31x11.50R15's on the road. I have not needed to air them down off-road.

I got stuck once, the day I put them on. I was playing in the river-bed in 2wd and sank to the axle in the soft sand. I locked it up and grabbed 4-lo/3rd gear and jumped right out and back on top of the sand.

I run mostly packed dirt and sand off-road, but I've gotten into some nasty mud too, with good results. No, these are AT's and not mudders, but they are Interco's and do much better than my old BFG's.

They balanced nicely and are staying that way. They pick up stones, but it is just slightly annoying, not a big deal. They handle big, sharp rocks nicely and I have yet to pick up a nail while driving around the Ranch.

The biggest change is I have to regear now! I swapped 31's for 31's, but these measure a TRUE 31 inches tall, not 29 1/2 like my old ones. They are also 11 1/2 inches wide, not 10.5. The tread is laid out kinda like the Bogger, that is there are two ridges of tread...seems to make road driving nice. They grip the pavement better than the Jeep can and I haven't had any problems with hydroplaning.

I got mine just a few days out of the factory. They rode kinda weird until I got them broken in. My only gripe is the sidewalls were fuzzy with mold flashing. Otherwise, they are great so far. Not seen snow yet, but we'll see what happens this winter. (Don't get much for snow here, but should at least see a little ice and slush).

UPDATE
Ok, it's been a couple years now and while they are wearing nicely, the wet pavement traction has gone to crap. Honestly, these tires are freaking scary on wet roads now. They lock up like on ice and slip like crazy starting out. Any gas in a turn and you're trying not to swap ends. Great sand tire, great tread wear thus far, but I'm ready to try something else because of the wet traction issue. This is one area where my old BFG AT's kicked boot on these tires.

They would probably be fine with some siping...but I doubt I'll find any shops in southern Arizona that can sipe tires.

I have always liked the STS tires.
Who gave you flack about them? Interco is one of the best off road tire makers there is (heck, all the make is off-road tires).
You needed an AT, and got one of the best out there. Glad you like them. They seem to work for what you do.

I think we agree'd that they have thier place for wheeling, but you needed to qualify the terrain you were using them.

Desert/sand/dry dirt/wet sand/ect they perform great, Topsoil dirt and topsoil mud they are horrible, like what is found in my area.

They are not a very good choice for east coast wheeling, but an excellent choice for your area.

In the northeast they are most often used on pulling trucks on sled tracks made mostly of dry/moist clay. It's a very popular tire for that application.

The Trxus MT looks like they're more suited to the mud than the STS's are. If you didn't need a hardcore mud tire, then no one has the right to criticize you about your choice. From the first time I saw them I figured them for a sand tire.

Dudes........I have the Trxus MT's on my Jeep and I challenge anyone to follow me....LOL.....The side walls are tough yet flexible. They form easily to the terrain and grip like crazy! Yes, they have their scars, tears, and gauges, but never a flat! Hey, if you can't be rough on your junk, why use it.....put Trxus on your Jeep if you ride rough!........Yeeee haaa!:brows:

After nearly a year of running these, I still like them.

When I chose them, I needed something to take on the pavement as well as sand and dirt. These treads have excelled all of these, as well as handled some sticky goo and a few rocks. They have run over mesquite branches and creosote bushes, barbedwire, nails and who knows what all else! No flats! (for you northern-teir folks, mesquites grow thorns to rival hawthorn bushes!)

I have rotated them once, not noticing any tread wear difference, no cupping or anything else. I do have a little chunking at the leading edges of the treads, but it's really minor.

I expect to see a few more years before I wear these out.

And, only once did I wish for a more agressive tread, but they got me through just fine. I was breaking through a tight, deep wash at an angle, and had to hammer it thru. Lockers would have been more help I think...and better suspension flex.

Still no really noticable treadwear. Haven't rotated them again as yet, tho I should.

I've talked to other guys who have these on their fullsize trucks and they have had bad experiences with them. After looking at some, it seems Interco does not make the tread blocks (and voids) larger with larger tires. They seem to work well in a 31" size, but the bigger sizes just don't seem to keep up.

As time passes, I still like them beter than my old BFG AT's, but I likely won't buy them again, rather I'd opt for something more agressive. BUT, they've worked well for their intended purpose: a mainly street-driven tire that is tough enough to handle blasting dirt and rocky roads without getting stone-cuts or blowing out.

I do think they may have some serious potential with a little grooving-iron work. Theres a LOT of rubber there to play with.

I read they were noisy, that's ok.They would be cool for the weekend cruz'n.I just was looking for something different and cool looking that nobody else here had. The tread is something like the boggers in a way,so thought that they had to be a good muddin tire.If not,o'well.

Thats part of the reasons I got them.
They don't stop so well in the rain, but handle ok otherwise on pavement. Not too bad (for an AT) in the mud I've run. I wouldn't want to take them into anything serious tho. They do dislodge some serious clods tho.

Had I to replace them now, I'd got with a more aggressive tire, but I'm not commuting daily any more.
