There are a couple of "franken-lift" options that can get you a few inches of lift... is the Libby you're talking about gasoline or CRD?
You can find a whole lot of detail on lifts for Libbys here:

Our hosts here are even listed as a supplier of parts for Libbys!

In that case, you'll be gratified to know that you can easily spend as much money modding a Libby as you can on a Wrangler or a CJ.
:damnit:
You can even find a kit to swap in a solid front axle (discussion on LOSTKJs under "SFA" heading).
The stock tires are about 29 1/2" in dia. So it's no real stretch to bring it up to 30's... with a little trimming and pounding down the pinch weld in the front, you can probably make 31's fit with no lift as long as you're not doing much more than road driving. Otherwise, you're going to need to lift... and you can get a couple of inches lift out of one of the franken-lift kits.
Post up some pictures as you guys get going on the project.

edit: also a hint, when you get into new tires, get light truck tires instead of passenger car tires, as it is supposed to give you a better feeling footprint.
