i was just wondering how big of rims you can stick on a libby, stock i'm goin off 2 college in the summer and my parents were lookin at gettin me one, so i was wonderin if i'm gonna be able to fit like some 20" wheels or if i'm gonna be stuck with some retarded 17's

A stock Libby can handle a tire diameter of about 29.5 inches without causing any rubbing (based on what I've read). Since most 30" tires are about 29.5" diameter, that's about the largest you will get away with.
:24:
So if you put 20" rims on there, you're going to have to use some really low-side-walled tires. And your Libby may or may not look the way you want it to, but its road handling is going to change dramatically... you can forget casually driving over the curb and going off road.
:bed:
ps. I gather that the first place that rubs tends to be the 'pinch weld' at the rear of the front wheel well. The area behind the front bumper also catches some rubbing, especially during a bump or turning.
You'd be better off getting some rims off a Rubicon (16" dia and 8" wide) and putting some beefier tires on there... not only will the more aggressive tires look beefy, but the stance on and off road will improve. Stock tires handle kind of mushy. An upgrade to better ones will make a huge difference.
Here is a link to the "tyres, meats, donuts" discussion on Lost KJ's:

And if you want to make your Libby look sharp, you should put one of these on it:
Any lil' Toyota or Honda can have bling-bling wheels. But a bull bar on the front?
That will turn some heads.

well thanks for the advice, i donno if im still gonna go with it then cus i obviously got meaty 33's on my wrangler right now, and i kinda wanted to get the "fly" look with some big rims. but i would agree the bull bar is without doubt one of the most badass things i've seen in quite awhile

You can get about 2.5" to 3" lift on a Libby with good results and not too much expense. To get much higher, you're talking about major surgery.
I kinda doubt you'd clear anything like 33"s on there without a 3" lift.
And since there's no body lift to apply, you can't pick up extra clearance without trimming.

The only thing more gay than 20s is 22s. Stick with the factory 16s, put the 2.5" spacers on it, slap 30" ATs on there and enjoy. My KJ CRD was one of the sickest looking KJs around. Everytime I see it in town now I almost cry. Why the ____ did I sell it?? That thing would tow any trailer I hooked to it, get 24 mpg, and follow my YJ through the woods. Sigh... live and learn.

So why did you sell it?

Although I can't really talk...
I'm not nearly as attached to my Libby as I am to my TJ... so if it came down to one or the other, the Libby goes.

The only thing I see wrong with big rims/low profile tires is curb rash, if that's the turf you're traveling.
Since all the ricers are running around with mongo wheels, but can't mount any real meat on them, it seems funny to go chasing after that look.
But to each his own.

Big wheels / low profile tires can have all of the following problems:
- Harsh ride.
- very easily damaged if hit rough road, pot hole, train tracks, curbs, uneven transitions into parking lots, etc.
- increased braking distance/premature wear and failure of brake parts due to increase in recipricating mass.
- look a bit too gheto / rice racer for my taste.
