Was told by another TJ owner that I could invert my shocks so the boot is up. Is this possible and does it serve any purpose?

Also, the Daystar 1.75 inch budget boost is around $95 and comes with coil spacers and new bump stops or you can buy just the spacers for $70. Can't you just use washers to extend out the factory bump stops?

Thanks!

I have a '01 and the shocks that are on it are at the top. They install with the boot up. The only shocks that you would be able to invert successfully would be the rears. The fronts mount differently on the top than the bottom. Besides I am not sure what purpose that would serve. There is a company that makes shocks that mount the other way but they are adjustable shocks.

No, it has no purpose with stock shocks

IMHO shock boots are a waste of money. They may look nice, but only serve to hold grit and grime that eat up your cylinder shafts and seals. Most HD shocks have a fixed cylinder shroud that covers the shaft. If you're just looking for color, just paint the shocks before you install them.
