Mike is a friend of mine and I love what he is doing with this cool new resource.

I had not looked at it in a while... Just added a Jeep Club I am an officer in.

He has made a ton of changes to the site over the past year.

All off you should join in and load any content you think would be relative.

If you post anything you should come back and make a comment to this thread about what you posted.

Check this out...

That thing is cool!

I'd move this to Just Jeep, I would not have seen it but I was bored.

Although I like the idea. I this has the possibility of turning bad for the sport. Although I didn't look into it in detail, I would hope that private land would not be allowed to be shown. It falls into the classic guy with a 4x4 looking on the net then going and tearing up some farmers fields. Next thing you know another private trail system is shut down due to one bad egg.

Now I am not saying that people shouldn't divulge their private land connections for wheeling areas. I am just saying that they should think twice about posting directions, locations (gps coordinates, etc) to land for the public to view.

I have not read every post but most of them seem to be Public Lands or Pay to Play....

In Texas It's all Pay 2 Play...

I guess that is how we roll.

I just got this email from Mike...

He is testing a new feature on his Off-Road Atlas:

------------------------------------------------

Hey everybody,

OffRoadAtlas.com is in the process of being updated and one of the new functions is the ability to automatically center and zoom the map on your location (based on your current IP address). I'd like to ensure that it is working, and rather than me buying a bunch of plane tickets, I'm hoping that you'll take a minute of your time and visit the site and shoot me back a quick email to confirm.

All you have to do is go to:

http://www.offroadatlas.com/

and look at the big map - it should automatically center and zoom to your current (approximate) location. If you could shoot me an email (mike@jeepnewsnow.com) letting me know that all is well, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
-mike
