1961 Willey's

A friend of mine has a 1961 Willeys, he bought new tires and rims, when he went to put those on he said the studs for the rim push through the other side, if you hold them from pushing through, you can't tighten them, they spin, is he missing a piece that would hold the studs from pushing through and turning.

Sounds to me like he needs new studs or new spindles. They are press fit in.

The Early CJ5 board has a tech article on the home page on how to do a knuckle stud conversion. You and your friend should check it out. Lots of other info and tech there for the '61 vintage. One of our guys is in the middle of a frame-up complete rebuild of his 61... :)
