Ok so I want a rusty's 4.5" lift but can't afford it. I selected a Super lift 3" kit. I will lift my front w/coils by 3" and the rear w/AAL. I plan to add a 1 to 2" in the rear by way of block and MJ shackles (about 0.5" longer than XJ). Also a 1" or 1.5" front spacer. I'll figure out the shim degree and brake lenghtening myself. However will I need longer shocks or upper and lower control arms? The shocks should be ok for now I feel but this will be a daily driver so I don't want a lot of shimmy. Any help would be great. The "local" 4x4 shop is 4+ hours away so it looks like a "Nonnie Install". I will be taking this project on ASAP and will need to complete it quickly as I will be using someone's garage. I want all required parts to be there when I begin. Thanks for all the advice in the past.

How much is that super lift going to cost ya. If you can afford it I would spend the money to get the new leafs in the back and skip the block action. all your going to get out of the block it height and not flex. FLEX is what you need when wheeling. I thought about the block for sometime but a tone of guys convinced me to get the leafs instead. I'm glad I did.
As for shocks I would go OME they rock. They are a really good cross shock for both street and offroad.
make sure you get some new break lines aswell.
As far as you 3" lift and the spacing for the frount or back is hard to say. What year is your jeep.
how old are the mj chackles your getting?
The sag factor on the rear shackles might be a problem. However that can be adjusted with the spacers I would start witht he 1" in the frount and the 2 inch block in the back drive it for a bit and watch to see how things settle in. if the back is still kinda riding high go back and put int he 1.5" in the frount to level out your ride and I think you will be ok.
P.S. I wish you were closer I would help.

I'll be using new MJ shackles. I'm going with the block in the rear for price wise. I'll possibly get a set of 4.5 leafs in the future and ditch the block/AALs. I saw 4.5" from R. Express. Yhe Superlift will run me about $620 plus tax. I'm only going to run 31x10.50x15s on 7s or 8" wheels. Down the road, 1 or 2 years, I may look into a SYE and go up to bigger axles/6 to8" of lift and some 33s. Eveyone needs a plan. It's funny ,a lot of people know I'm into JEEPs and come by my yard to see if there was any progress. I get people coming into my Chrysler/JEEP store telling me about this JEEP they saw and describe MY yard. I'm a reformed CJ guy so go figure. I hope my XJ will get more people lifting their XJ's around here. I hope so!

I want some 32x11.5 but this guy I know has some 30s with good tread on them so I might get those for a bit then save for some meaty 32x11.5 Yep you always have to have a plan. mine has been sidetracked a bit. I ended up buying a house SO i'm dirt poor right now. I'm maying the mortage and my GF is paying the utility bills tell she can get a fulltime teaching job. she is subbing right now and working part time at a shop in the mall.
