I finally got them yesterday. Got them on and wired up today. I used part of my old KC-knock-off lights' harness, so that made things a bit easier...no new grounds to make or find!

My impressions:

Are they bright? HECK yeah! I need to aim the things, but oh wow, did they light things up nicely.

I have them on my windsheild hinge mounts. Probably not the best place for them tho. The lenses have no surround, so the light refracts thru the edge of the lens and is pretty blinding. A little black nail polish should take care of that. They will fit in a lot of places tho because they are a slim light, only about 3 inches deep.

I am a little disappointed in the build quality. On one light, the lens assembly does not sit in the housing very well. I'll likely just silly-cone that with some clear RTV and call it good. The housing is plastic with stamped metal mounts. The lens assembly is pretty nice tho and the lens is melted silica (can we say glass again yet?)

It came as a complete kit with relay, switch and harness with a pre-terminated plug for the relay and PLENTY of wire. It's 14 guage, so I guess it's ok, but I usually run 12ga wire... The diagram was good too.

The only thing I needed that was not supplied with the kit was the screw to mount the relay. I re-used my toggle switch because I don't like rockers and it is a heavier switch anyway.

I did find one neato trick tho...my CJ does not have AC, but the port in the firewall is there with a siliconed-shut hole already in it. Nice port thru the firewall!

Overall:
Build quality: 5-6 (cheap plastic housing, cheap wire, odd, flimsy lens retention)

Completeness of kit: 10

Ease of install: 8-9 (there was actually too much wire, so even tho they already spliced the harness power wire to the lights, I had to cut it and make my own splice. The ground wires were short, so I had to make my own too.)

Would I buy it again? Yes. They are cheap enough cost-wise, so I expected some cheap components. The output of the lights are great and the lens assy is fairly stout. Waaay better than my fake KC's ever were...even with their steel housings.

I'll get pics later...dark out now.

Wouldn't that be the right time to show em off? After all, they are lights!
