In this (linked) thread (http://jeep-forums.4wd.com/showthread.php?p=287583#post287583) I showed what I found today...shredded stock clutch linkage.

I had picked up a new kit some time ago, and had it sitting around to install when I replace the clutch. Seems I needed to get it installed a bit sooner than that.

The Kit: http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=15305

Overall impressions: Decent visual quality, went together nicely, thick, strong metal, no cheezy stamped junk here. Direct replacement, fit just right. Made install a breeze...and hour to r&r the whole assy, including the jaunt to Lowes for new hardware.

I was a bit dissappointed to see there was no new hardware, like the hairpin clips that hold the rods in place, and I had to go source a nut to hold the linkage together where the stock part was a rod and clip, but the new part was a threaded rod with a knock-off of a heim joint (I know theres a specific name for this joint, it's not a Heim, but close...I just can't think of it right now). I'm grateful for the joint upgrade, but still had to go buy a nut for it.
There are also a couple peices shown in the diagram that were not there, but I didn't notice until just now...most notably the fork return spring (part # 12 in the diagam) but that was no big deal to me, mine is still fine. Also not there is whatever the cylindrical thingy on the pushrod and the O ring by the firewall boot. I re-used my stock boot as it was still fair and I was running out of daylight. The "thingy" wasn't there on my stock setup either, so I didn't miss it either.

Clutch is nice and smooth now. I need to grease the joints still, but at least she shifts again!

Overall impression: 8/10. Definetly buy again and would recommend to others.

Thanks for the review Gryphon. I have this on the shelf right now as well waiting for the weather to cool off. I 'think' that I'm getting the Rod M link with the ball joint ends to replace the stock link. (I'm hoping this will make for easier depression. My left knee seems to be getting a bit fickle as of late...)

I'd get one. Once I got under there and saw how it all goes together, I want one of those rods too!

Do you need a new part made? Give me a call.

I'll know more tomorrow when I pull it out.

Edit:
99 cent bushing failed. Grease didn't penetrate into the cup. Had it siting in a box waay long, so I found a bushing at a local shop (M&M) and replaced it with new grease.
