After praising my KJ for reliability... the inevitable happened.

This morning as I was nearing the office (yes, lazy bum finally got a job... at least I don't have to clean the sanitary-nakkin-filled laundry like Poppy does!), I started hearing this loud clackity-clackity-clack.
Uhoh. I'm thinking this is really bad, then as I slow down, the clacking slows down too.
So I get the last two miles into the parking lot, get out and look... my right rear tire has picked up a 3/16" bolt, complete with a big washer.
It's cold, so I'm thinking, okay, I'll change the tire at lunch. Come back out at lunch, and the tire's not flat! Doesn't even look like it's down any.
So I visit the tire shop after work, and lo and behold, this bolt was like 2" long, nicely sealed the hole it made. Got it plugged, and all set, except I really hate these stock, Wrangler RTS tires (RTS for Real Txxx Sxxx - you can fill in the blanks). So now I'm looking for tires.
always something... haven't even got my first paycheck yet, and my Jeep wants me to spend money on it!

Tom, that's why we all love our Jeeps, right?

BTW, congrats on the new job, buddy!

Good to hear it was just a bolt in the tire and nothing more moneyconsuming...

Thanks, I'm looking at the "E" rated LT tires for this thing... no more passenger car tires for me!

I ran a bolt in my Peterbilt tire for the entire time I owned it. 200,000 miles or so?

It stayed sealed and wore down evenly with the tread. LOL

I thought those bolts were called spikes? LOL

Me thinks you are referring to jacks?

The little star looking things that are used to sabotage tires?

Nah, I meant spikes, the ones you mount in winter tires to get more traction? Ok, you'd need more than just one to really make it work. :listen:
