It isn't that hard. I put one on my 95 Rio Grande. It took about 5 hours, with hand tools by myself in the driveway. I will give you a rundown.
1)Make sure there are 11 lift blocks. Also enough hardeware to go with them. There should be a lot of misc hardeware too. Get a block of styrafoam or something similar. I will explain that later.
2)Locate all 11 body mounts. There are 5 on each side and one under the center of the hood. Spray them down with your favourite penetrating oil. (do that the day before you do the lift) One by one loosen them. Don't take them out all of the way, just loosen them.
3)Take the one under the grille out. Then pick a side. This is where the styrafoam comes in handy. Take the 5 out on the chosen side. Use a floor jack with the styrafoam on it to lift the body a little off of the frame. The styrafoam will protect the body a little bit. Lift the side up enough to slide the new blocks in. I left the factory washers and mount stuff there. Put the blocks in and set the body down. Carefully thread the new bolts in. Repeat on the other side. At this point you will need to get under the hood.
4)Pop the hood. Remove the fan shroud. You don't have to take it all the way off. Remove all of the radiator mounts. This is where some of the misc hardware comes in. There should be some flat brackets with bolts attached to the, they may just have two holes in them. You use them to lower the radiator. It is easy to figure out when you see what I mean. Reattach the fan shroud.
5)Go around the vehicle and tighten the body mounts. I don't know the exact spec, I just torqued the s&%t out of them. There are two square brackets for the grill. They go under the two rubber bushings on the sides at the frame. They get welded in, I didn't do this and have had no problems.
6)Check the shifter clearance and have fun. I did nothing with the exhaust or the shifters. You will want to check the exhaust and make sure there are no clearance problems. Same with the shifters.
Like I said pretty easy. Hope that helps. Any other questions let me know.

What's the deal about the infamous TJ air conditioner body lift incompatability? I installed a 2" suspension lift and want to lift the body 1" but "the guy" says it's a pain because of the A/C lines. Any way to do a 1" body lift on a '98 TJ without farting around with the A/C lines?
Thanks,
Gregg

You can install a 1" body lift on a tj with ac but nothing larger. the ac lines will not interfear with a 1" body lift

Thanks for the info. This is by far the best informational site I've found. Nobody's flamed me yet for all my goofy questions.
Thanks to all :D
