So how was it? I'm actually getting ready for the Salde KY Jamboree. I'll be leaving the 5th, driving down. We're looking at 6-7 hours drive in my jeep...sould be interesting. Anything I should know or not forget to take with me? Any tips you have would be great! Thanks!

I had a blast. You don't have to worry, you have a CB. I used my brother-in-laws handheld, but i missed some of the conversation that the ones with the vehicle mounted people were getting. I think each Jamboree is a little different for what you need to bring. At Palo Duro, there were only 2 porta potties and 1- 4 stall outhouse  and having your own TP was a big plus. Palo Duro was also VERY dusty. I wish I had left my top and doors on. See if you can find someone who has been there before and talk to them. I went with my bro-in-law and a few of his friends and had a great time. You going with anyone? I was impressed with the range of Jeeps there. Mainly CJ's, YJ's, and TJ's, but a few Cherokee's and Grands. I only saw 1 Liberty. It is nice to see so many Jeeps together. Also neat to have people around who know how to fix things and have the parts when they break. I wish I could have taken more pics, but between having to drive (there were some pretty hairy trails we went on) and all the dust (didn't want to ruin my camera) I wasn't able to. I plan on going back in 2 yrs with the wife and hopefully some mods done to get around better.
I flat towed my Jeep there (10hrs) so driving was not too much of a problem. Your shorter than I am so you probably wont be that uncomfortable on the drive. Have fun.

Blupupher...that's great to know you enjoyed the Palo Duro JJ. I'm from Dumas (50mi. N. of Ama) and haven't got to go to the JJ for the last 10 or so yrs. due to the job :( ...and a complete CJ ground up project :D Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it (sorry 'bout the dust..happens all the time up here). Hope to see you in 2 yrs....the Stomper will be ready by then. Take Care and Tread Lightly as Always. :USA:
