I'm thinking of doing a little mudding come the spring and have been looking for some inexpensive, but decent mud tires. Since my YJ is a daily driver, I'll keep the Wild Trac tires/rims on and change over to the mud tires when going to the swamp/river.

I've been leaning toward the Remington Wide Brute RV or the Kumho Venture MT. I found a write up on the Kumho and was impressed. Still looking for a write up on the Remingtons.

Anyone out there had any experience with these tires, pros/cons? Any and all info is welcome.

If you are looking at some inexpensive mudding tires, one place people overlook and/or shun is pep boys. I ran some futura brand dakotas on my 4x2 and only had one problem (hence i sold the 2 wheeler and went to 4wd) they are good tires but they have a more aggresive treaded tire called the EnforcerM/T the dakotas held up good, I had 30k on them and very little wear on the treads. I think the enforcers are running under 110 for 31 10.50 15s.

thats a link to see the tire tread.

uniroyals make a MT and it is meaty Those are what I plan on getting nest. The ones I priced were 32x11.50 on 15's and they were priced around 100 bucks a pop. That was balanced and with a road hazard replacement warrenty with them. They have a good onroad rating and are good in mud and dirt.

I have 31x10.50 remington wide brutes, and I have no complaints in the mud or sand. :)

You can get Kumho at www.tirerack.com. 31x10.5x15 were $83 each + shipping last time I looked. The wide brutes, I have no idea.

The Brutes are made by Dunlop (same tread pattern as their Mud Rover). A Dunlop dealer should be able to find 'em.
