well at least the idiots that designed it. i have never owned a vehicle that was so miserable to work on. changed the oil yesterday, second time i've done it. i've been taking it to valvoline regularly after fighting with it on the first oil change. first off, it is a royal PIA to jack up the front end with a floor jack. once you have it raised, there is no place to put a jackstand if you want the wheels off the ground. you have to reposition the jack and raise it again to get the jackstand under the A-frame. next is the oil filter, you have to be a contortionist to get to it. the last guy that put it on must have been a gorilla. i fought with it for 2 hours. there is no room to get a filter wrench in there and the ones that fit on the end of the filter would not grab it. there is no reason that changing oil should be this difficult. i know that dealers make most of their profit in the service department and now i see why, they don't want us working on them. after this much BS just to change oil, i am dreading having to do any other maintenance. makes me like the CJ that much more!

Wait 'til you change a headlight bulb! Can you say 'bloody knuckles'?
There's actually a notch up under the frame for the jackstands... I'll see if I can find a link that shows the photos. It's not as bad as all that... but it's certainly a temptation to think about going SFA.
