well with RUBI still in the body shop, starting to wonder if I should install some 1/4 panel protection. was considering offyourrocker corners, but not sure if they just cover up trail damage or do they provide protection. seems like a shame to put 30 holes in RUBI to install them. TIA TJ

I have a beef with those aluminum diamondplate tinfoil corners. They don't provide any protection, they just folded up with the rest of the body when I hung myself on a rock (when I landed after traversing it). I changed to a set of 12-gauge panels that a college-kid bent out for me at an aftermarket automotive class.

Nice job, didn't cost me a whole lot, didn't pay anything for S&H, and they looked great after the install. I painted the interior with some cold-zinc and sprayed some JCWhitney rubber compound over it and Herculiner over the outside. After it was all said and done, I paid for the metal, the rubber and zinc I had left over from when I installed my tool drawer on my XJ.

Everybody won, I got some better guards and he got a grade.

Moral: you don't always have to pay for quality.

well, the only thing in life that is for sure is death, taxes and things change! so I decided to go w/poisen spyder's crusher corners w/the rocker knockers, slightly modified w/some nerf tubes also. evrything comes smooth 3/16 steel, ready for paint. Sweet! thx. LD  4wd :D TJ (it helped that I got my taxes done, uncle george owes me!)
