Bull$hit people kill people. Guns are inanimate objects. They dont have a mind and the ability to decide who dies and who doesnt. They are just a tool to do the job. If you think that way then we should ban knives, they kill people too. Heck while we are at it lets ban Louiville sluggers and all baseball bats cuz they kill people too. lets ban scissors to, they kill people. Oh i forgot screwdrivers kill people too. Lets ban all rocks cuz you can use them to kill people. the second amendment says the right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. That means, ill use small words so you can understand, that we as people of the USA can have guns. And all of the Dumacrats in this country cant do a damn thing about it.
Loyal Gun owner, NRA member and Republican. SCREW GUN CONTROL.

Back in high school I was talking to this army ranger once and we were talking about guns and other ways to kill people. He said the military teaches you to use your mind to kill. That your mind is worse than a gun. a gun is just a weapon and his mind was a better weapn than any gun he would ever have owned. he then told us that he could kill more people with a car and a full tank of gas than he could with a fully loaded gun.

My Winchester 270 just picked up a 12 gauge. It's pissed at someone named "blingblingWJboy" for talking $hit. I'm gonna try to talk it down but it's got a hair trigger. Goes off all the time, rampage I think it's called. I lock it up in the safe but my 45 sneaks out at night to pick the lock. Can't tell you how many times my heighbor has caught them trying to climb out the window in the middle of the night.

I am an extrememely proud veteran of our beloved United States Marine Corps. For 6 of my 8 years of service, I was lucky enough to be a regimental scout sniper for the Fighting Fifth Marines. Having said that, I can tell you this;

IN THE PROPER HANDS, GUN CONTROL IS A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE!

Proud owner of 14 rifles, 11 shot guns, 5 pistols, and a "grease gun" that actually saw combat in Panama.
We need idiot control, not gun control!

have to say i'm a very proud gun owner. back in texas you can still carry guns on a gun rack in your vehicle. if we would teach the kids about responsible gun handeling and that guns can be dangerous if not treated with respect, then the death toal from gun related accidents would be less. these kids play these games that are so graphic and violent, but what the children don't understant is that if you shoot someone, you can't hit the reset button. take a kid hunting. if they are in the woods they aren't on the street. what's the saying: Charles Heston is my president :USA: Vote for gun rights.

I think we lost our "guest", I haven't seen another post since that first ignorant comment. Scrambler013, Yes Sir, I spend a lot of time searching for and purchasing new weapons. I had a shooting range under the house but the police didn't care too much for that idea. Especially being in California.
Extexan is absolutely right. I have an 11 year old son that plays those graphic and yes, violent games, but that's not what instructs my child to determine right from wrong. I AM!!!! and I think that's a lot of what's wrong with our society. (Especially the half wits that think gun control would do even the slightest bit of good) The parents MUST be responsible for the teaching of their children. That's what makes the whole gun control issue a joke.
"We'll we're real $hitty parents so we better get rid of guns to keep our children safe" come on.

Has anyone ever stopped to think about this? If you're about to commit murder, MURDER!, does it really matter whether or not you "legally" own the gun that you plan to kill with? People that break the law don't give a damn about gun control because more likely than not, the gun they have isn't legal any way.

Gun control will ONLY do two things. 1. take the guns away from honest, hard working and law abiding citizens. and 2. give those people that aren't law abiding, the reassurance that the person they're about to draw down on, isn't armed.

No thank you! If and when owning a gun becomes illegal. I will no longer be a law abiding citizen.

When guns become illeagle and the ATF comes to get them, they can have them, bullets first, then pry the rest out of my cold dead hands. Our military signed up knowing that someday they may have to die for their country. I make the first statement knowing that if the Dumocrats have their way, I may have to die protecting my God given right. Only in a dictatorship does that kind of "What I say goes" work. This is a democracy, the people have a say. What I have to say is, I am going to keep my guns, locked up so no one but me and my wife can get them, but I am keeping them. They protect my home and loved ones from any kind of intrusion, be it simple B&E or armed robbery. I want to be able to protect what is important to me, my Berretta 96 in .40 S&W does a nice job of it. God, Guns and, Guts made this country free, and if need be will keep it free! :USA:

Under most circumstances, a grease gun is a sub-machine gun that is simply loaded up with packing grease to keep it water proof. They were primarily used in the 60's and 70's by both the Marine's (Force Recon.) and Navy Seals.
In my case, it's a home made, machined piece of 304 stainless steel that my grandfather and I made in his garage. It has very few moving parts and all of them are made of the same 304 stainless. It fires 45 cal. rounds; the trigger housing, chamber and ejection port are all water proof. I keep it packed with grease just in case but I've never had it fail on me. It's 12.5 inches long and about 2.75 inches in diameter. It holds 17 rounds in the mag. and one in the pipe. It's heavy but we did that on purpose because of the 45 caliber kick. I wanted to be able to hit was I was pointing at. It's not very good beyond 25 yards but that's o.k. too it was meant for close quarters.

I was listening to National Public Radio and get this, there are actually statistics in Japan on how many people die by being killed with UMBRELLAS.

Guns are simply a means to an end.

Sometimes it's not a gun, somtimes it's a cliff or a pair of scissors or a car or poison. These don't get the attention that firearms do because they do other things as well.
But firearms are different, they are singular-purpose items, they kill. That's all they do, you can't use them to work on your car or cut a piece of paper.

Even BB guns kill. And if you twist it around to say that target shooting or clay-shooting isn't killing, nope, you're right... it's just practicing to kill.

But I like being able to own firearms for the purpose of killing.

I know that I can hunt for sport or protect my self or loved ones if the need should ever arrive. I have a concealed carry permit (aka CCW papers).

I don't carry because I'm militant or want to kill someone. They don't give criminals these additional rights and responsibilities, mostly because they don't mind about killing people.
I don't carry a concealed weapon for any reason I can think of. I carry it for all of those reasons that I can't think of.

That's the same but different. It is a sub-machine gun but the one joker refers to is from WWII time frame and never made it to the troops. I guess maybe a few might have but they sucked. The one I'm talking of is usually either an AR15 or an MP5 depending on what branch of the military you're in. There are others, I'm sure, but those were the most common that I saw. I built the one that I have now simply because the Marine Corps wouldn't issue me an AR15. They are used for amphibious missions or in harsh, wet environments. You can't take an M16 or any other non-protected weapon into that type of area and have them work well for the long haul. You need a small weapon with a fairly large caliber to work with the grease.

deadpedal
12-22-2002, 08:59 PM
I have been trained to use those things, they're basically "spray and pray" weapons. The only reason that our military uses them is simply because other countries still have them hanging around and we need the same weapons to continually familiarize troops. The M3 is only really good for about the same range as a pistol, still if you hit something with it you know that it's not gonna get back up again. They are favored by special forces units for the simple reason that they're short, have a high rate of fire and are cheap. I don't trust them, they're made from metal stampings. and are simply pressed and crimped together. The metal's too thin to even weld properly.

Deadpedal, here's a little insight on my comment:

Ever since BHD came out, there seems to be an over abundance of High Speed soldiers out there, ie. Rangers, Seals, SF, CIA, etc. Many of which are "Wannabe's". Have you ever read "Stolen Valor)?

Ranger class numbers are refered to by class # first and year second, ie. my Class # was 2-78.

When you aquire a SQI, the "0" in your MOS is replaced by the SQI letter, ie. my MOS was 11B3VF7.

The ASI of B2 is not used in DA Pam 611-21, the ASI for Sniper is B4.

Only MOS's 11B and 11M are eligable to attend Sniper school, the regs don't mention a waiver for other MOS's.

So, I hope you understand were I'm coming from. If this was a test, I hope I passed. I have only the utmost respect for anyone, in any MOS, in any branch of the armed services, who has/are serving their country honorably, from cook to commanding general. I served for 9 yrs, 2 yrs with 3/325 AIR, 4 yrs with 1/75 Inf (Ranger) and 3 yrs with the Signal Corps. My oldest son is in Radar school at FT. Gordon and will be headed to the 101st upon graduation. My youngest son wants to be a chopper pilot (he's a Junior in HS).

BTW, I pulled a year in Korea with the 257th Sig Co (FAST-N), Korea - The best kept secret in the Army, the best overseas tour I ever had :D

deadpedal
12-27-2002, 11:11 AM
First of all, they have formally done away with MOS designators, that happened at the beginning of the fiscal year. Second, my 11H MOS has been phased out, I am now 11B. I threw a few of the other mistakes in on purpose. The ASI for sniper school IS B4, B2 is for graduates from the Sabalauski Air Assualt School in Fort Campbell, KY. As for my Ranger school class date, my orders read 96-5, might be the orders number, but I doubt it.. As for how they're put together, I have never seen my MOS, SQI's and ASI's all put together. Ever. Nowadays, we have all of our orders, awards, certificates, NCOERs, civilian education and military education posted on Army Knowledge Online accounts. You don't order microfiche anymore. As for that last jab, I never claimed to be high-speed. I am a normal soldier, Ranger School isn't all that it once was cracked up to be. It doesn't have a desert phase anymore and some of my RIs were corporals. It's considered a leadership course by Infantry standards. The real high speed soldiers that work in the special operations community are the ones that are assigned to Ranger Battalions.

Sniper school is standard for members of battalion-level scout platoons, the designated snipers for [again] designated special operations units all go to the Special Operations Target Interdiction Course. The regs also don't mention allowances for 11C or 11H, yet I know several of each that are sniper-school trained. Oh yeah, the MOS 11M has also been phased out, I guess that just leaves 11B and CMF 18, let's get real here. If your S3 wants you to go, they will find a way for you to go if it's possible. Amendments to orders and changes to regs are very common.

The regs also state that personnel reporting to Infantry School training have to go to Harmony Church, any idiot that has been there in the last ten years or so can tell you that that rat-hole has been condemned and torn down.

BHD, Black Hawk Down? Oh yeah, I haven't and will never see that movie.

I don't believe in the selling of the memories of good men for 7.50 a ticket. A lot of those men are still alive and having a friggin movie MIS-represent what happened in a chapter of THEIR life ain't right.

Those poor souls were put into a pickle that they were trained to deal with. I don't know if I could or ever want to (honestly) walk the line that those fellows did.

By the way, I joined right before that happened in 93... I was in basic combat training on Sand Hill. I watched those people in the streets with the bodies and I was scared witless, but I finished with that and moved on to bigger and better things. I don't want to compare myself to those fellows, but I am proud to wear the same uniform that they did.

So lay off, will ya?

Heck, I was just saying that you're an old ranger, I was in pre-school when you were walking into combat.
