:)
Some of us have a KJ as a daily driver that does a good commute M-F, and want to have a little Weekend Warrior spirit arroused, too.

Granted, I'd love a spare CJ with half elipticals and FI Chev 350 that I can tow to Moab, but that's going to have to be my next toy.

What I'm finding out is that very few people make lift kits yet other than poly spacers. I'm kind of nervous about these. What I'm looking for is heavier coils, quick disconnects for the sway bars and some good OR shocks. I've contacted most of the big name lift mfg'r and they don't have anything yet but have them in the works. Found a coil company that makes heavy duty longer KJ coils, but they're in Australia.

Also anybody have any experience with Jet chips for off road ability? Obviously, I don't plan wide open throttle when off roading, so just want to know if these chips do good/harm off road ability. Kenne Bell makes a supercharger for the KJ to get some balls, but they're mighty proud $$ of it.

Found some good rock rails and skid plates to compliment/replace the factory skids, so the bottom side is going to get some ding resistance.

Hopefully able to get my toy put together soon...

Your right there are very few companies out there that do make lifts. The ones that do at this point like trailready have BB lifts but aren't that intrested in the KJ being lifted. The market for the KJ is for (now don't get mad at me I'm just reporting what they were marketed after) The urban SUV market. They want the ifs for the nice ride on the road. I have yet to see in person a lifted or decket out KJ. They have all been stock. Well ok one had an after market roofrack but thats it. Trailready and companies like that don't have the money or time to invest in lifting the kj if there is such a small market for them at this point. What I mean small market is the users that will take this off road and wheel it. I think with in the next year or two you will start to see alot more lift options for the KJ. Have you seen some of the rigs I posted of KJ's from the trailready site. Heck just go to there web site. watch out for the red and yellow one. I can't be held responsible if you spazzzz out from the colores they used.

and as far as Jet chips I know there not that great for the other jeeps most people don't have much good to say about them.

Flyfysher, where did you find the rock rails? Are they permanent or removable? Thanks in advance.

I've got to agree with jdogg here.

I ran into the same problem when I purchased my 99 XJ new. Right off the bat no one had anything to deck out my XJ and no one had a good lift because of a model change in the 99 on XJ. What this meant is that all the great stuff out there for other XJ's, wouldn't work for me

Every company I talked with told me things were in the works, but it would be a while. My advice is to just sit tight and not make any rash decisions. Eventually they'll put something out on the market that will do the job, it just might take a couple of years to get it into the market place. Heck it's almost 4 years later and I'm still waiting on some companies to bring out parts for my 99.
