I've wanted a flat fender since I was a kid. My Grandfather had a 1948 CJ2 with a bubble hardtop. It was covered with rust and had holes throughout, but it ran great. I never saw him do anything to it. He used a feed sack to cover the seat. He sold it when he bought his CJ10 in 1979.

Is there a reliable source for these old Jeeps or should I just drive along old country roads until I see one like my Grandfather's?

thats usually the best way, but more often than not, no matter how long they havent used them, or they cant use them, they wont sell........think about it, would you sell your life long rig? youll get lucky sooner or later and find whut u are looking for. Good Luck.

I just bought a 54 cj3b and the guy storing it has a 2a/3a(not sure which yet) that he doesn't want to sell because a friend gave it to him. He would but doesn't wasnt to piss him off by selling it. It has the column shift like a early 2a, but a windshield from a 3a. Not sure what parts were original.

Like you I have always wanted a flatfender a few years ago I got one. Awhile back I saw one for sale on a country road in Oregon If you want I could go look to see if it's still there. Im not sure exactly what it is but it had a hard top and the rear tailgate was the type that does not open. Let me know if your interested and I can get the price and some pics for you if its there.

I appreciate looking out for me. After some mechanical work on my daily driver YJ, I'm a little out of the market right now.

If it's meant to happen, it will.

Thanks again.

how much to good flat fenders go for in the U.S.
because im from G.B. and really good M.B.s go for about *4-5000
cj2 and 3s are more expensive because there rarer but the WW2 jeeps are quite reasonable

I HAVE A 1946 CJ2A, THAT?S BEEN SITTING IN GOOD DRY STORAGE FOR 12 PLUS YEARS, LAST STARTED WAS 4 YEARS AGO, THE FUEL PUMP WENT AND I HAVE NOT HAD THE TIME OR MONEY TO GET BACK EAST TO RETRIVE IT.

We REBUILT THE AXLES AND IT HAS ALL NEW BREAKS, LINES, WHEEL CYLENDERS, & MASTER.

FLOYD IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED LET ME KNOW..

I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE IT AWAY BUT WOULD CONSIDER A REASONABLE OFFER.

Where at and what do you consider a reasonable offer? I would love to have a flattie. I would have to talk it over with the wife first but let me know. Thanks man.
