engine donor question

I have a 93 YJ with a 2.5L manual. I just put 31s on it and fould it lost almost all its "umpf" I rescently came across a deal for 2 mid 80s full size broncos with 302s in them. I know people have swapped parts from broncos before, i just dont know what kind of parts are in these. What kind of axles are in it, are the transfer cases and trannie of descent strength? just looking for some general opinions on whether this would be a good swap. TIA

your engine, tranny and transfer case should be fine for 31's... the bronco most likely has dana 44 axels which would be a nice swap for added strength, but try and throw a set of gears in the axles, maybee 4.11's or 4.56's this would get alot of your "umph" back...but take into effect that you will loose some of your top end...but in a jeep i dont think you should be going at 100mph, its just not meant to go that fast.
