After searching around and watching several forums, I signed up here.

After many years wanting one, I finally bought my first Jeep, a bone-stock red CJ7. Nasty little beastie! I love the thing!

I am not new to off-roading by any means, but I can't wait to play with the CJ more. The 258 was recently rebuilt and surprised me with the torque it puts down! The 5 speed keeps up with traffic on the highway, and the rear locker has kept me from needing the front hubs as yet.

I'll have plenty of questions on this rig...hopefully I won't loose it to my wife like I did my 4Runner! This was the whole reason for buying the Jeep, to replace the POM (peice of Mazda) I was driving! That an an upcoming move to Arizona!

So, I am looking forward to a lot more Jeepin' (assuming I get to keep it and the Redhead does not get her way!) :22:

BTW: these are the best Smileys I have seen yet! :wack: Slapping Fish Dance! (ala' Monty Python!)

Welcome aboard. You will get to hate and love the CJ-7. But the best time you will ever have..... :3:

Yeah, I am already about to yank the carter off the intake and slam it into the wall a few times!

I think I am going to drop a webber in there for now and save up for the howell injection kit.

Yep, the little sucker gets you as soon as you buy your jeep. I think they live in the jeep. I have heard of people getting bitten just from test driving one.

Yeah, I think so too! I am finding that out of all the rigs/cars I have "played with" this thing has the most toys to add to it! Ordering some POR15 today to stop the rust and try to save the tub.

Sometimes it (the bug) will leave your Jeep, sneak into your house at night and bite you. You'll get up and wander around looking for the latest 4WD catalog... Welcome, Man.

Yea!! I got bit about 3 months ago when I bought my first wrangler. It's already taken loads of money and plenty of time. I love it!! Anyway, welcome to the club. :pimp:

Look into the motorcraft 2100 replacement before you go with the webber if you want to save up money faster. Do a search on this board and you will find some good info, I have some links if you need them. I just finished mine today and my cj has never idled soooo good. Today was a good day. Only problem was a leak btw the adaptor plate and the intake manifold that was fixed by some form-a-gasket. Good luck with your new adventure.

I have been thinking about the MC2100. I just need some more info on how to ID one in the boneyard. But then, I just got my Haynes manual in the mail, so I can go off of that too.

Thanks for the input!!
