'78 CJ-7 exhaust

I have a 78 CJ-7 with a 258 six cylinder, dual opening headers, dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers. That is how it was set up when I bought it. The exhaust is now rusted out and I'm going replace it when the exhuast shop says I have to install catalytic converters before it will pass inspection. Can anyone tell me if my Jeep came stock with cat. converts or not?

NO IT DID NOT come with cat.s and you shouldn't need them for inspection! :USA:

yah, napes on the cats....if they have beef tell them to take it up with us...besides even with the biggest of mods u can *usually* find a place that will inspect your ride with out that big of a hassle...
