Ok I have been working on replacing my rusted out 1972 jeep body with the new fiberglass body. Everything is working out pretty good, but now it's time for the windshield frame, guess what, the factory hinges are trash. Does anyone know if replacements can be found or what can be done to solve this problem?

Try going here jeepdoc.com/catalog/zproducts.asp?id=124
I only see them going back to 76 but you might e-mail them and I'm sure theay will help. ;)
What windsheild frame do you have? This might not be a bad time to upgrade to the '76 & up frame. (Then you can use the easy to find, aftermarket hinges) I think I have a set of early hinges here, but IMO, you'd be better off w/the late model setup. (unless you already have a early style top)

I currently have not purchaced a windshield frame yet. The upgrade idea sounds more of what I am looking for but I really don't know the details of doing this conversion.
If you don't have an early style softtop (or hardtop) you're looking to use, just bolt a '76 and up windshield on, hinges and all!! It's a straight swap, and I believe even YJ windshield frames will work. (I know that they bolt on, the only thing to consider is the wiring for the wiper motor.)

I MIGHT have a set laying around. Shoot me an email at:

Send me your phone number. I'll give you a ring if I find them and I can "part" with them... (Not sure if I need them or not for my money pit...)
I'll be working on my '75 this weekend. My resto is going on 15 miles from the 4wd showroom. (Handy at helping me empty my pockets...)
