Anyone having problems with binding etc?

nope, not yet. just replace the right rear tire with a general grabber 31/10.5/15 and the rest is 50% pieces of crap tires, and have'nt had any trouble. however, the tcase has recently been gone through. i wonder if the 249 is more tolerant for tire circumferance of larger diameter tires.

why would it be more tolerant? Not saucy... I just wonder why

my thinking is, take a 225/75/15 and all tires may be withen one inch circumferance of each other +/-. now take a 35 inch tire and maybe the circumferance range is 2 1/2. is the viscous coupler making up this diference driving down the road. seems to me a vc has a shorter shelf life with bigger tires. just a thought.

No problems yet, 103,000 on a used Jeep with a 249 Tcase.

Sounds like we are the lucky ones.

But for the unlucky ones you can check ebay for a VC they are around $400, the dealer wants at least $800 without labor, and 4WD wants around $500. If you are pretty handy you can do it yourself.
