i'm currently having the axles and arb's installed with the 4.88s, how important is the sye and driveshaft now if the truck is at stock hieght? i will be installing the 5.5 coil spring conversion in 5 days and i want to know if i must have the sye and driveshaft in the vehicle and if it can be installed before i do the lift? please don't tell me it is a must and i have to do it after the lift because that would mean driving back to the driveline shop in front axle only to have the sye and driveshaft installed. is the sye and extended driveshaft a must with this lift? please advise a soon as you can

what if i take the measurment of the driveshaft at the yoke and after the lift, remeasure and have the driveshaft extended the same amount? i could clean up the splines and install a new seal. does that sound viable?

at stock height, the SYE and CV shaft are not needed. With 5.5 of lift, about 99.9% sure your gonna need a SYE. You could try a combination of a 2" MM lift and 1-2" TC drop, but that might five you some binding problems in linkage.
If you just extend your current shaft, it will have severe angles in it. If you have a short drive to the shop, you can drive with the old driveshaft, but there may be severe vibration while driving and damage could occur.
Bottom line, if going that high, your gonna need a SYE and new driveshaft. Sorry.
