I love sh1t like that man. Thanks for the info. Now I know that there are about 187135 other '88 XJ parts trucks out there for me to find in junk yards!!!!!!

From 97+ modles there were 913,963 made. You would think I could have found ONE good hood that wasn't smashed or totaled so I would work on my summer time vented snorkled hood that I want to build.

So you plan on swithcing your hood with a summer hood and winter hood?

Yup I sure do. The XJ's just run so hot and my fan is running all the time during the summer. Does ok on highways, but when I'm out crawling around it can get hot.

I want to do this on one side so heat can disapate quicker.

and on the other side a snorkle type intake, so that if I get into some deep water I won't suck it up were the air filter is at now.

I've seen a special on TV where they did that to a hood, but it was for a streetrod, and was mostly for looks, it sux bc if they mess up once...the hood is crap, gotta start all over again......

Thats why I'm looking for another hood to do this with I don't want mine messedup.

When I'm out wheeling I pop the hood so that more hot air can get out. My hood gets way hotter than any other car hood I've ever had when wheeln. It is for looks but it does have a heat disapaition factor to it and thats what I'm looking for. Haven't you seen jeepsers that put the ZJ vents or after market vents on there rigs.

Here are some.
