Hey guys........I have a 93 Grand Cherokee that doesnt shift into overdrive when the tranny is up to temp. Works fine when I first go out but within 10 min I cant get into O/D. Is it time for a tranny rebuild? or is there some common problem with these that can be easily fixed? Thanks

Flush/fill ASAP. Use a can or two of "Lucus" tranny fix. I used it on mine and it helped a lot.I also used the Engine stuff to top up my oil as it went down.I was loosing about 1.5+ liters betwen oil changes. I'm down to < 1liter.At 160000 miles stuff happens.

Deffinitely try the flush and new fluid route...just make sure that you refill it with the correct fluid as stated in your owners manual.

If that doesn't correct the problem you'd probably be better off taking it to a tranny shop like AAMCO or Cotthams etc...

A freind of mine had that happen, the tranny cooler lines go through your radiator, when the seals go, it pumps antifreeze into the tranny and vise-versa. Water in tranny = blown tranny =@$1600! If this has ocurred, you should see quite an oily mess in the radiator.

Thanks for the help guys.... I did a tranny oil+filter about 1 year ago but maybe I'll do another one and add the Lucas and see if that helps any. Lucas is good stuff, I use it with my oil changes and it keeps the top end real quiet. The truck is going onto 200,000km now so maybe its time for Lucas in the tranny too....Hopefully that helps. I'll keep ya posted, thanks...James
